(AP) Disney adds content warning over 'negative stereotypes'
It was 1955 and Americans didn't need Disney to be wary of Asians...or Cats
I was only 8 and never liked felines thereafter but reveled in the Panasonic pocket radio I got a few years later for my birthday. I'm shocked to learn, however, that my kids were forced to watch Johnny Cash sing in front of a Confederate Flag on the Muppet Show.

Follow Ups:
Used to find something else to do when the Wonderful World Of Disney came on Sunday evening. If I remember right it came on after Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom which was pretty cool. Never much liked Disney and thought cartoons were lame (Johnny Quest excepted).
Never was anti-Asian but didn't like cats much until I had some experiences with them.
The head of radiology where my wife worked was Asian. I liked him, his wife and his kids. I have flown with many Vietnamese helicopter pilots, and they were all cool. These are the only Asians I have known. My opinion of Asians is based on these people and my experiences were all good.
I have liked most cats that I have met. Maybe I'm more influenced by my actual experiences than Disney movies.
I don't like coyotes, but it's not about Roadrunner cartoons. It's about the fact that they have killed eight cats and dogs in my neighborhood.
As a retired retail manager, I've dealt with countless Asian customers through-out the span of my career.... As a general rule they are over-demanding, would sell their children for a discount and are sneaky by nature (tag switching). The men are nicer generally than the women and most of the women are vain, subservient and dumber than a box of rocks. The older ones ALWAYS try and dress to compete with their teenage daughters.... One of the cats that I loved was part siamese and was really more like a dog than a cat. The feral cat we have now has NEVER been friendly and it's stupid. I laughed at your comment, "I don't like coyotes".... Then you would HATE my dog! If I had a dollar for every time someone calls him a coyote, I'd be a rich man! He really looks more like a jackel than a coyote but certainly a wild dog... He's a love, and I thank my lucky stars every day that I found him at an adoption clinic 8 years ago now! He's a treasure to be certain! Photo of my Milo attached....
We had a neighbor who had a pair of hairless dogs. Once you get past their looks, they are still dogs which is a good thing. We have had cats and dogs. I prefer dogs. Milo looks very alert and attuned to the person taking the picture.
We're convinced that he is at least part Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican hairless dog) or Xolo (pronounced show-lo) if not 100% pure bred. We have a neighbor that has one (standard size) and Milo looks identical with the exception of his size and his crazy hair. His personality traits when compared to the breed are spot on. Milo even stands like the pure bred dogs (see attached pic). We keep meaning to get him tested to find out, but just have not got around to it. Like I said though, he is a love bug and devoted to his Mom and Dad......
We had a rescue named Jamie that we intended to get tested, but never got around to it. She passed away two years ago. She was a sweet heart. Everybody commented on her ears and asked what she was. We knew that she as part poodle, but the rest was a mystery.
who is all the rage on the internet... Nicknamed the Mickey Mouse dog!
The ears are similar.
Recent world events in the first case, and in the second I've only owned two fabulous cats in my life and I wouldn't trade those experiences for the world. Right now I can't wait for the feral cat that my wife tamed over 15 years ago to die! It's senile, can barely see, yowls for food 24/7, weighs about 2 pounds , loses hair in clumps every where she goes and gets under foot EVERY time you head toward the kitchen door and my wife refuses to put it to sleep! There will be NO other cat in this house after this one is gone! EVER!BTW, I LOVE Disney AND that movie!

One'a these days, you'll be "senile, can barely see, yowls for food 24/7, weighs about 2 pounds , loses hair in clumps every where she goes and gets under foot EVERY time you head toward the kitchen door." Bet your wife has no problem putting you down. The cat will probably still be hanging in there, too.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
I'm a human being.... There IS a difference!
Most dogs and cats are better than a lot of people I know.
. . . both humans and animals have souls. But humans have rational souls!
- Although I'm not sure if I really believe that, considering some of the humans I've dealt with! ;-)
"Nah, I'm talkin' to yer soul...."
you'll find very few that volunteer to be eaten though
no matter the level or measure of consciousness
regards,
I don't believe in "souls" period. Show me one.
Rational? Sure. Yeah.
What animals do have that people don't have is innocence. They don't kill for fun or profit or boredom.
Well, chimps do. Maybe that's the difference between primates and everything else.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
Does she prefer you or the cat? Many wives would prefer the critter with pointed ears and four feet.

Seems like there's a lot of wife wants, wife doesn't want at the Ghost house.
Not that I wouldn't trade all my independence and years more of emptying the litter box to still have mine with me.

that she prefers me. Even though she has great empathy for animals and probably should have been a Veterinarian. Thank GOD for me she wasn't though.... I like animals, but there is a distinction to be made between an animal and a human....
The distinction is intelligence level. Animals are like small children. They aren't manipulative or devious, they are forgiving and love unconditionally, and they don't grow out of it.
too bad for them they're made out of meat and some taste good
I mean animals of course
