"After a brief period when I only experienced minor discomfort, the symptoms accelerated and I became desperately ill," he said, adding that the president was following his condition "and cleared me for the monoclonal antibody therapy that he had previously received."
Ben Carson said he was "blessed to have the best medical care in the world (and I am convinced it saved my life), we must prioritize getting comparable treatments and care to everyone as soon as possible."How many of you folks do you think the president will clear for your antibody treatment and pay for it???
just askin'....

"How many of you folks do you think the president will clear for your antibody treatment and pay for it???"
Firstly, we have to have a functioning government. As Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson has an important role in that. As a Black man in that position, it's even more important, at least according to the Left. So, why wouldn't you want him to get the absolute best care possible?
Secondly, in the U.S., the word "president" is capitalized when referring to "the President". Now you know.
Your snarky question is silly on its face. From your question, is it reasonable to suppose that you don't like our President?
Clearly, the President can't do that - I don't think so - but maybe he can. I would think that he can take extraordinary measures to ensure the safety and health of the Cabinet. Look into it, and get back to us.
Lastly, you may not be aware that the Pfizer vaccine is already in production, and that the distribution channels are already set up.
Before you post more of your idiotic political BS, endeavor to learn what's actually going on.
But you never answered the question did you.
And we all know why.
Because you know the answer and you don't like it.

that I wanted ANYONE to have less than the best care.
You are living in a dream world. Pay more attention to reality.

He's a phony, a pompous, self absorbed, NY developer, millionaire (possiblly billionaire but he's such a liar who
really knows?), reality TV star that is a noted philanderer and overall bad example of someone leading a good Christian
life, while portending to be a good Christian. He's a primo hypocrite and I HATE hypocrites!
As President I could list myriad reasons why I dislike him, but he already gets enough attention for that.
Donald Trump is a sleezebag that too many people have bought into for too long.

stupid trade wars that led to higher costs, lost markets, and plant closures; nearly 1,800 U.S. factories disappeared between 2016 and 2018. those are pre-covid numbers. a $555 billion trade deficit, which is an increase of 15.3% over the deficit for 2016 when he took office.
annual-rate decline of 38% in GDP, the worst since 1958
exploding the federal budget deficit to $3.1 trillion in fiscal 2020, more than tripling the $984 billion deficit from fiscal 2019 ... all on his watch
the worst unemployment rate since the great depression
these are terrible economic performance figures that cause real and lasting harm to this country and it's citizens
don't forget the 255K dead from Covid, a figure that should have been magnitudes lower with better management and includes bringing it into the White House and infecting scads of his own Secret Service detail, who are not volunteers and Gov't employees / assets ... not to mention his stupid unmasked rallies that were spreader events costing supporters health and lives
allowing the Norks nuclear ambitions to flourish. experts say that based on current trends, Pyongyang will soon have the skills to build a nuclear-armed missile powerful enough to reach U.S. shores
285 trips to golf courses costing the taxpayers $142M dollars and spent at courses in his personal portfolio which are clear violations of the Emoluments Clauses
there's so much more, just ask Puerto Rico or any of the Western States that went up in flames with some burning still
I'm sure this post will get jacked shortly, but aren't you glad someone bothered to articulate answers to your stupid partisan question?
it's as if you live in a bubble or look at the world through the jaundiced eye of politics as a team sport ... pretty sad to be petty and sad
be well,
it's obvious to many The Don did such a good job at it and was extremely resented for it that we are now subject to the harm. Mistake proof? No, not ever was one president even in private life. He has a big spuming mouth, they all do. Sabotaged? Could be yes, - maybe one day we'll find out the details and guilty.
Since before he walked down the staircase our 'patriotic' elected dims and rhino's duped many into getting themselves elected. Gosh what an extraordinary exclusive club it is, making rules unto themselves and making all sorts of money doing it. And we are all going to get what we collectively voted for. I can't wait to find out.
I'm done spuming
"so pervasively did they speak and yet they hardly uttered a word of truth"
Donnie's shit show was interesting & sometimes entertaining, but it is time for Don The Con to go.
Bring on the SDNY & let the investigations & prosecutions begin.
Maybe he can use his Chinese bank account to get himself a better lawyer than Crazy Rudy.

if so, and I'll use my southern accent, y'all need to settle down.
When it comes to this I really only fear for my relatives which are old and sick. A few days ago my so called friends asked me for a help and after I came to their house they admitted testing positive for a virus but having no symptoms which made them sure they are not transmitting the virus...I had to tell my boss and consequently I'm on forced two weeks vacations and eating bacon &eggs for a few days now :) I scheduled test for Monday
.It is what it is .You try for the best and the rest is in Gods hands.
A teacher friend was exposed to it from her step Dad who DIDN'T know he had it (at the time).
Not sure how he's currently doing.
Her first test (THIS time) was inconclusive. Big help. Second test showed clear.
She is in quarantine as is her husband.
Her Mother died of it after a month (alone) in ICU.
Her brother and Father had it and are OK, as such.
She's a Catholic school teacher, her family very devout.
God's hands is a nice thought but He doesn't have shit to do with this.

Thanks. I went to test myself in Detroit's clinic. It was a slaughter house. A lot of people cramped inside a small lobby. I looked at the
sign-in sheet and there it was
. Reason for visit -Covid test. Few added a remark "feeling sick -Covid test" Seems like it didn't discourage many to leave the lobby. Nurse at the desk was coughing discretely. A bad dream even if one is slightly skeptical about the whole pandemic. Sure recipe for getting the virus. I'm positive they make tons of money on those tests. The doctor assured me it's all fine and I'm likely to be OK. Gotta believe in science then

Oh YES, I am sure that is the problem.
Why do we have all those dern hospitals anyway?
We dont need no stinkin' hospitals.
An we dont need no stinkin' doktors.
An we sure dont nned no stinkin' vakseens!
If art interprets our dreams, the computer executes them in the guise of programs!
Right, it is as basic as that. No need for any of it.
Don't worry. I'm sure that the new economy/silicon valley billionaires (Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg, et al) will ensure that it is available and foot the bill. They owe us that much. Right?

so far.
Money isn't the problem. My insurance will pay for as will most peoples plus medicare.
The drugs are in limited supply and right now reserved for the political elite.
True and false?
"The drugs are in limited supply" True
"...and right now reserved for the political elite." False
In the interest of truth: from Reuters (link below):
"U.S. hospitals, weighing high demand and tight supplies, said they may limit use of a new Eli Lilly and Co LLY.N antibody drug to COVID-19 patients with multiple risk factors for serious illness or to those whose immune systems have not begun to fight the infection.
...
The federal government has paid $1,250 per dose for 300,000 doses of bamlanivimab, which experts estimate may only be enough for one weeks' worth of Americans becoming infected, based on the FDA label identifying appropriate patients."
The antibody cocktails only work during the first days of an active infection and must be infused (2 hr).
Trump was infused in the WH BEFORE he went to the hospital.
Nobody but the political elite can 'admit themselves' to a hospital before they have serious symptoms (as the former NJ Governor did) thereby getting the drug infused early enough so it might do some good.
Miracle Drug? Yes.
Available for all? Dope.
Is cost the issue? Nope. $1250 per dose is peanuts. The cost of a cheap DAC.
Again, only people with the political or financial clout to get into a hospital BEFORE they have serious symptoms will ever see these drugs.
Is it an issue of cost? Nope.
From your initial response and the Reuters article (which found after reading your response), I got that cost is apparently not the issue. That was not the point of my response to you.The confusion is that you are apparently talking about the antibody drug Regeneron (the one which was used on the President) which has yet to receive an emergency use authorization (EUA). So, you are right about the use of Regeneron. I was talking about the Lilly antibody drug/treatment bamlanivimab which was given an EUA last week by the Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA emergency use authorization (EUA) allows for the investigational monoclonal antibody therapy bamlanivimab to be administered in an outpatient setting (not hospitalized) for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adult and pediatric patients.
Per FDA: "Bamlanivimab is not authorized for patients who are hospitalized due to COVID-19 or require oxygen therapy due to COVID-19. A benefit of bamlanivimab treatment has not been shown in patients hospitalized due to COVID-19. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bamlanivimab, may be associated with worse clinical outcomes when administered to hospitalized patients with COVID-19 requiring high flow oxygen or mechanical ventilation."
Edits: 11/21/20
and neither do much good (and may even harm) hospitalized patients with severe symptoms.
The problem is that outpatient infusion centers, of which there are many (think chemo), are already in use and fully so, plus they are not suited to handle COVID positive patients.
So who gets the drug?
Those who have the power to do so.
Like everything else regarding treatment of this novel coronavirus, health care systems will have to adapt. The alternative is to not adapt the outpatient/emergency settings and not administer the antibody drugs and subsequently overload the already stressed hospitals with increased inpatient admissions.A challenge, for sure.
From the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) article "HHS seeks hospitals to administer new COVID-19 treatment":"Outreach to hospitals is underway
To accommodate IV infusions, HHS officials said they have been reaching out to hospitals to provide the treatment. To segregate COVID-19-positive patients from noninfected hospital patients, the new treatment is to be delivered in outpatient facilities.
...
Janet Woodcock, MD, director of the Center for Drug Evaluation Research at the FDA, said the administration is talking to health systems and other types of providers about whether they can meet the requirements."We will be looking at the ability of the healthcare system to get this into people's veins," Woodcock said in a call with reporters.
The treatment also may be administered in hospital emergency departments and "alternate care sites" set up by hospitals and health departments under the "hospital without walls" waiver provided by CMS to support a surge of hospitalized patients."
