After countless convictions, he still thought he could evade the law.
hey, maybe you two and some of the other guys could meet up and join the counter-protest, get out there and be heard!

Be well.
One online rag was making him out to be one of Houston's premiere religious leaders, but they didn't identify what "religion" he was the beacon of.Nor did they mention anything about his recidivism rates or that he had a violent criminal record.
There is this theory Darwin had. Floyd seems to have proved it is still relevant after millions of years of evolution.
You can't riot/loot/legislate away Darwinism.

!! ... riot & loot after he was killed?
it just has to hurt to be this stupid

The cops weren't too observant that the left's recently canonized patron saint had drugs on his person and was ditching them right in front of their presence.
Obviously, St. Floyd must have unintentionally dropped the planted bags of dope. If only the video of the cops forcing him to ingest the meth and fentanyl before the 911 call would surface. It would certainly justify the cannonization and the 11 human sacrifices (mostly black) thereof.
It's amazing with his record and what was going on with the arrest... that he got a national funeral.
I can think of much better examples. Innocent collateral damage.
Chris Beatty - Pitt receivers coach, tried to save 2 people from muggers
David Dorn - 38 yrs in law enforcement, checked on a pawn shop alarm.
Italia Kelly - a beautiful 22 yr old leaving a violent protest.
Dave Underwood - Federal agent, victim of a drive by shooting.
Dave, I just can't tell you what an important service you provide by incessantly reporting on reporting, interpreting interpretations, and recapping what anyone that wanted to could bloody well go read for themselves.

Thanks for posting this video. I hope she stays safe.
And shame on the media for not reporting ALL the facts. Once again.
The right loves to put a spotlight on black conservatives. Extra bonus points if it's a black woman conservative. For Republicans, that's like finding the Holy Grail.
You guys are trotting her out like some kind of cardboard cutout to stand next to and say "See, we're not racist. Really, we're not. We have black people on our side too."
If the same words were spoken by a white man, it would be just another opinion with no more weight than any other. You wouldn't have bothered to post it. And that's how her opinion should be treated, colorblind.
What this really boils down to is a conflict between three prevailing points of view:
1. George Floyd was a criminal, so he deserved it. The right is too chicken shit to say that directly. Instead, they've decided to highlight every bit of adverse information about the guy they can find, and hope the point comes across while retaining deniability.
2. George Floyd was a martyr/hero. I won't say gentle giant because that's one of my favorite prog rock bands. For the same reason as the right wants to tear the guy down, the left wants to prop him up.
I think both of the above viewpoints are dragging the discussion away from the facts. To me, the only reasonable viewpoint is the third:
3. It doesn't matter who he was or what he did. What matters is that a cop killed him unnecessarily and (from the looks of it) intentionally. This point of view requires people to separate the criminality of killing someone from the life story of the person who was killed, which seems to be intellectually too challenging for a large percentage of the population.
"The right loves to put a spotlight on black conservatives."The left loves to put a spotlight on black liberals. Donna Brasile, Barack Obama, Al Sharpton, et al.
"George Floyd was a criminal, so he deserved it. The right is too chicken shit to say that directly."
Now you're just making stuff up, based on your own political attitudes. If, as you say, the Right hasn't said it, why do you imagine it and bring it up?
"It doesn't matter who he was or what he did. What matters is that a cop killed him unnecessarily and (from the looks of it) intentionally."
Now you're making some sense. I'll say that I doubt he intentionally killed the dirt bag. After all, he would know that his own career would be over, and that he'd spend a considerable amount of time in prison.

'"The right loves to put a spotlight on black conservatives."'
here, Dave is pointing out that black conservatives are so rare they're used as props and often found to be mercenary.
no one on 'the Left' needs to spotlight black liberals because that is where the vast majority dwell [at least] on the sociopolitical spectrum

I can't get my head around why some strongly imply that he deserved to die. My inference is that if they came out and said it, they'd expose their racism. They think implying it gives them plausible deniability.
Wow, that never even crossed my mind that he deserved to die. If you are are inferring such a thing, it is on YOUR mind.
But others here have implied such.

Coincidently about the same amount of time Chauvin was kneeling on Floyd's neck
leading to his death. The rest is essentially irrelevant because of that, no matter how much sense it
may or may not make. This situation we are in is about how a rogue cop killed a suspect and was caught doing it.
Bad cop/bad suspect.

Remember the riots, looting, murders and burnings about Justine Ruszczyk Damond wearing pajamas, Daniel Shaver pulling up his underwear and Tony Timpa while laying face down with cops sitting on top of him making fun of him while he died ???
Nope, me neither because there was NONE. Its call conditioned selective outrage and you good sir, have been conditioned on what to be enraged about and what to ignore.
The cop that executed at point blank range an unarmed near-naked man in cold blood, crawling on his hands and knees, pleading for his life walked Scott free, yet no outrage, no looting, no riots, no fires, no free big screen TeeVees, no free Air Jordans. The Somali cop that gunned down a women in her pajamas was politically protected with similar lack of SJW response.
Cadence hit the nail on the head, yet most everyone fails to recognize their conditioned responses to the contrary.

Yes, I was waiting to see if there would be any substance contributed by the typical posters here that have a "different" perspective, yet, nothing of substance has been logged. Pretty obvious. Pretty vacant non-sequitur on your part?
The majority in this forum will gang together to disparage this woman and any Inmates who support her.
I'm just saying that once upon a time the sense of the Asylum was that Hillary would be a walk in. Bits of contrarian evidence like this were simply eradicated from the Asylum with no attempt at reasonable rebuttal.
How did that work out for the Hillary supporters?
JE
How is that relevant to the OPs post?
What does politics have to do with it?
I would imagine once upon a time the sense of the Asylum was that CDs were a good thing.
That's about equally as relevant.

If you listened to what she had to say, you wouldn't have to cherry pic E-Stat. Who knows, you might learn something the MSM hasn't already spoon fed you.
I'll just mention the obvious one.
A "gentle giant" (That bogus label parroted on GMA this morning by another in the car) he was not. He was a recidivist felon previously convicted of armed robbery.
"Gentle" people don't take fentanyl and methamphetamine.
"Gentle" people don't commit violent crimes
"Gentle" people don't point loaded guns at folks. Especially pregnant women.
Having said that, the laws governing the use of deadly force were clearly violated by those cops.

Most news stories don't tell you he was a recidivist felon convicted of armed robbery.
Cops don't like having to arrest folks when they are aware they have a history of violent crime. "Non-gentle" folks have no compunction using their guns or other weapons on police.
Most folks don't understand the significantly skewed demographics of violent crime.
'one' could start by answering the questions you're ignoring.
I'm aware that he served time. once served it's supposed to wipe the slate unless the rehabilitated offender is back before a judge. time served equals rehabilitated by statute. recidivism is another issue.
justice is supposed to be blind, but it would seem that you're saying it's OK for her to take a peek. there's guidelines for making an arrest. once a suspect is under control they are to be taken into custody. that is no small thing. custody, of course means charge, control and safekeeping.
safekeeping. repeat that to yourself while watching the vid clip of the arrest again. rinse and repeat as needed in order to internalize just how bad this whole thing is.
that 'peace officer' had some 40+ reprimands for 'necking' arrestees over the past five years. something like this was bound to happen.
he also knew George Floyd having worked at a club with him.
I'm fully aware of the culture of law enforcement, and it must change period full stop. you either believe in all of the constitution or none of it. because that would be unconstitutional.

You continue to focus on a single tree. One hapless felon who was stupid enough to use his own car and tag to perform armed robbery where he was quickly apprehended.
Ms. Owens is commenting on the underlying challenge as seen in the forest.
Poor George never understood that by continuing to commit crimes, he would continually get caught. Unfortunately this time by a bad egg.
Solving the problem needs to address the root causes, not aspects after the fact
'you either believe in all of the constitution or none of it'
