.......... and she wasn't equipped with direct radio communication with her pit crew. I find that hard to believe.
Fine the hell out of her (and her crew chief?) if she had radio communication and it was either malfunctioning (she should have been red-flagged by her own pit crew) or she just flat-out ignored it.
Just "didn't see" the red flags? She ought to be banned from this kind of racing. Possibly sent back to the bumper cars at the fun park until she learns that the world doesn't revolve around her. Until then, competing drivers have every right to boycott any race that she's allowed to compete in!
She is obviously not mature enough (or experienced enough) to be competing on a race track with other living human beings.

Okay Abe. Now I get It :-)
That's what I get for posting before I had my morning coffee;-)

Target shooting after too much coffee can be a problem, too. I get the shakes and my groupings are all over the place! ;-)
Abe,
I stopped competitive target shooting (F class) about three years ago due to deterioration of my eyesight. My eyes are not nearly bad enough to hinder my day to day activities, but they became bad enough to not allow a crisp target picture at long range and that took much of the enjoyment out of target shooting.
I even sold some of my rifles because of this. Gone are my Terry Cross built M40 (.308 Obermeyer 5R barrel), my Ray Montgomery built 6.5x284 on an AI stock, and my McMillan stocked 6.5x47 Lapua w/custom 5R cut rifled barrel by my friend JR at Border Barrels in Scotland. All were wearing Nightforce glass.
I fully get you on the coffee drinking. I competed at Perry about ten years ago, and our coach would not permit any of the team to go to the line if we consumed coffee within the previous 48 hrs.
I still go to our local gun club range, but just to get off a few rounds and to socialize. All this just in time to see that our State and Town govt's very recently broke ground on a world-class shooting complex just a few miles from my home that is said to rival the NRA range in Raton. Google "Cameo Shooting Complex".
Cheers,
SB
That's awesome! I drive thru that town about twice a year. I've never really visited but we hope to get some peaches there one of these trips. I had no idea they were building such a huge complex.
I'm located in the major metro area to the East on the other side of the big tunnel.
I've never been a competitive shooter, just pistols as a hobby. I guess I'm fortunate that I can shoot on a friend's 35 acre property further East of me. Another friend who is an instructor also holds CCW and advanced defensive classes there. As you can imagine the point here is close-in and not necessarily tight groups.
These are not my carry but I am most accurate with my S&W 686 and a couple 1911 .45ACP. I like my Kimber but I hate cleaning it.
Abe,
Send me a PM the next time you're driving through. If we're going to be in town I'll e-mail you my phone number and address. We live in the middle of the orchards and would be happy to show you around. You could also check out my audio system should you be so inclined. We're only about ten minutes off I 70 and I'm sure that you would enjoy the diversion.
Cheers,
SB
