Mike was a real fun guy. A vinyl lover who had a basement full of vinyl. Mike also did reviews and there are several on the net. Mike had a way with words too. He often finished his posts with something interesting by his signature such as this " Music. Window or mirror? "I'm happy we met and got together a few times.

Updated: 02/19/2010 12:45:43 AM ESTHow do neighbors watch as a 60-year-old woman shovels her entire driveway? Perhaps it's because she looks 40. Perhaps they felt our son, who works odd hours, should have done it.
Perhaps they thought I should do it. I'm able to stand for two or three minutes at a time before my arthritis forces me to sit down. Surely, I should have been out there instead of my wife.
Perhaps they feel everyone can afford a snowblower. Why didn't we have one? Shame on us! "Ooooh, I thought they might be offended!" is the only stupid excuse I can think of.
I shoveled my neighbor's walk after every snowfall when we lived in town. I didn't expect a 75-year-old woman to do it, and I never bothered asking her if she would "mind" if I did it.
I'm shocked and dismayed. I was angry, but that was not the response I should have had -- it should have been sorrow that I have neighbors who have no cares but their own. Good people, I imagine some would call themselves Christians.
Anger, shock, dismay, and ultimately amazement and sorrow for those people who have forgotten to care for others.
A Mennonite farmer stopped and helped my wife today. I thank him for us and for our neighbors.
And of course, I must thank my neighbor directly across the street for using his snowblower to clear access to the mailbox. His sits directly beside ours.
