Steve,I am contacting you to express my appreciation of your recent Ultimate Audio’s review of Avantgard’s Duo. I learned a lot from your review. The most useful part was the advice to re-cover the horns with urine of a pregnant adolescent camel. I have bought the camel, impregnated her and now I teach her to urinate after my command. Sound too idiotic? Well, at least now you may feel what I feel about some of your “reviewers tips”..
Steve, your advice to angle the Avantgards Dou horn is the bad advise. I intimately familiar with those horns and familial with all short and long-term consequences the horn angling may lead. I hope that in some time you will be able to reevaluate you “tweak” and update your readers.
Now, ATTANTION!
To all Avantgards listeners. There is an ultimate test for your system capability. If you get the “better” result (integration) with your Avantgards setup by angling the horns and without the damaging of the sound then:
1. You entire system is not phases-coherent.
2. Your preamplifier is “have room for improvement” or missed
3. Your power amplifiers are not up to the task to drive the Avantgards.
4. You use too much “noble metals” in your cables.
5. You have no idea what you listening and you may disregards what I said.Best regards,

Follow Ups:
Romy,Following Kurt's tip (a belated thank you Kurt) I now angle my Trios down. They are supported by a mixture of natural cork and synthetic cork from some great wine - and despite my dear wifelet's disapproval I just had to 'wet the bottom of the glass' to get the corks... ah such is life.
Once sober, the sound is to me ears, more coherant and focused.

FW
Frank,it’s perfectly fine to angle the entire Trio in the any direction you wish. My comment was about the angling the individual horns relative to each other…

And I do angle my Duo's horns. He got that idea from me. And no, there's nothing else "wrong" with my system.Kurt
Hi Folks,So much horse design by committee will get you a camel every time, impregnated or not. Off course, that would take yet another “meeting”. No sympathy for the poor camel either.

I mean let's not waste valuable resources.Hi Romy

All I'm concerned about is how you impregnated that poor camel.

Yeah right. So maybe he is 3" taller than you or his chair or ears are at a different level in relationship to the speakers. You are totally wrong cat man. Please refrain from posting this kind of kitty poop.

PS Where'd you find a litter box big enough for that camel? : ^ )

[Something about impregnating camels who urinate inappropriately]
Wow! Ha! That's funny, Funny, FUNNY!!! I dunno what happened here, but that's the funniest post I think I've ever seen.
But, Man, That camel didn't short out anything, did it? 'Cause I've always hated how subjective this stuff is and all - not many quantify things or anything - But one can certainly quantify the amount a camel urinates and they can physically see damage as a result!
It's easy to build a bad sounding loudspeaker that doesn't damage itself but not easy to keep a urine-soaked-stereo system from smoking!
Anyway, that was COOL!
And - whoever you are - don't worry 'bout it. People says tons of stuff 'bout stereo stuff. I always hated that too, but it ain't nothin'!
[It was none of my business. But that was just too funny!]
