Hi Guys,
Anyone know of independent measurements for the TL-1601B?
What other woofer would compete with similar bandwidth, honest 35hz-900?
Follow Ups:
I know anything TAD is expensive but make excellent products. I use the TAD ET-703 tweeters in my horn system and they are the best I ever heard.

Best of luck,

Hi,Scholl
Give ebay a look. Some JBL 22** woofers fit the bill. The same with some of the EV 15" drivers. I think you would have to weigh where you want the "best" part of that spectrum you are most interested in, Is the lower bass portion more important then @900 hz.? The Altec 515b is about as good as a 15"driver gets to having an excellent midrange. YMMV according to your particular use. I am sure there are other 15" drivers you might consider
I wanted new production to do well over that range to a modern 1.4" driver.
A modern 2235 would be nice.
2216 variations look possible when back in stock.
The TAD fits the bill but is pricy and for some reason no one has ever measure it. Many people are using it but I'd hate to be the first to at least do a REW sweep.
The AE TD15S I'm using does great for mid 20s to 450 where surround resonance dips the response.
There are many woofers that equal or better the TL-1601B specs. Use this to find them.
Thanks, but it gives me all 18" woofers with the BMS 18N682 as the best match and that it is but I wouldn't want to use it above a few hundred hz. A three would be nice.
It's not so easy to cover that 35-900hz range.
The program allows you to limit the size range. I came up with 33 fifteen inch drivers. 35-900 isn't at all difficult to realize.
Looks to be unavailable in the US
I'd say 18Sound 15W700, BMS 15S330, FaitalPRO 15FX560,15FH500, 15FH530, B&C 15PZB100, Beyma 15WR400 just to name a few are all as good as or better than the SICA.
The Faital do look good in oversized boxes and the BEYMA 15P80FeN looks good for those who want to build a 515 type clone.
For some reason my head is stuck in the max flat alignment concept or close to it. I ignore lower Qts devices that can have 2-3 times the box volume to get lower F3. Some Altec designs are 2-3 times the max flat box volume.
