Dark closet?
First guess and just a guess.
Terry's Abbys are maybe his finest creation, at least IMNSHO so they need to be played, mold? or no.
Follow Ups:
Well, it's my closet in my bedroom that's used as my main listening room. I have lots of extra stereo equipment in there and I'm constantly in and out. It almost looks like the black of the surround is somehow leaching into the cone.
I've got a few extra drivers in boxes I should look at to see if they're suffering the same condition.
I guess it could be mold. Not sure how to tell if it is or not, though.

you can gently and carefully scrape the discoloration with a utility knife razor blade to get a slide specimen sample to view under a microscope, then do a comparison with the pix at the link
you could bring some affected material to a pro mold remediation company for their analysis as well ... might as well, you'll end up using them!
whatever you do, you should approach this with some urgency, as various molds can be very dangerous to health and extremely stubborn to deal with

this is actually serious, potentially deadly, and not to be taken lightly
get on it and good luck!
