Yes, get the 1 oz. bottle of speaker repair glue from
parts express (# 340-076) and brush it on full strength
on surround. Also good for re-sealing cloth surrounds.
It will dry clear and remain flexible. Warm water clean-up.

$761.60 per gallon sounds like there may be some profit involved. Is there anything similar which will work on surrounds which is cheaper per unit volume and obtainable in a few ounce bottle? What is the magic formula to "speaker repair glue"? Can old/dried pleated cloth surrounds be rejuvenated?
btw -whatever Audio Nirvana (GuiSound ?) uses for surround doping surrounds, gets stiff enough after sitting for a few years to raise fs a half octave (also raising Qts(

I've used DAP silicone gasket rubber in a tube from the automotive section at the hardware store, and I thinned it out to brush-able consistency with xylene as per the instructions. It worked quite well on the surround of a Pioneer CS88 but the surround was all there, it just separated at one spot from the frame (causing rattles). That was about 10 years ago and the Pioneer does daily duty in our HT., and doesn't sound different than it's twin which did'nt need the repair. Should cost under $10 if you have to buy a pint of xylene. Maybe I'll start selling it at $330 a gallon ; )

I use the same glue, though in bulk. It is spendy at any size.
But worth it, it's wonderful stuff, nothing works as well for
most applications. I've never seen it harden. Go look at the
chemical data sheet at Parts Express for formula.
