Awesome engineer, awesome speakers, awesome system! The only thing I don't get is the Pioneer Elite A-20 integrated amp driving the super tweeters. Is there something special about this $300 integrated amp?

I bought the Rat Shack CD-3400, but I was already aware of Sam's inclination to exaggerate, so I was just hoping for a cheap decent CD player, and that is exactly what I got. I was mostly into vinyl, but I wanted to play Dick's Picks CD's.

The only manufacturer I know which completely relied on measurements was QUAD under Peter Walker. According to Peter there was no possibility to listen to their products at the QUAD facility at all and auditioning was not part of the design or evaluation process.
Really good interview, validates the Altec A7s in my living room, thanks.
