Wazzup yall~
Im looking for the best tweeters & micro subwoofer setup for only treble & bass because I like my music grimey & grungey so cutting out the mid-range is a necessity for me. Ive tested out everything at Best Buy & want Bowers & Wilkins grade tweeters & a Definitive Technology grade subwoofer. Ill be using them on a new computer im getting, I already know how to make my flat screen TV sound good without speakers by setting the bass down low with mid & treble all the way up & no audio delay so ill be using them for blasting music over games ill be playing, not watching shows.

As about everyone has said already.....not a great idea or even doable. Just buy some durable PA speakers (add an equalizer if you care to) and be done with it.
What are PA speakers? Also I understand what everyone on the other thread was saying but I still would like to know what it sounds like to play grimey/grungey music on the most high quality durable tweeters & micro subwoofer I can find.
PA speakers for your purpose would be similar to what a DJ would use for a small venue event. They're durable, can play loud and on more than one occasion, I've heard some that sound very good. All depends on your wallet.
i don't know about what you're doing, but for me, if i was looking for an "ultimate tweeter", i'd be inclined to go with an air motion tweeter (they get expensive when you're looking for high power/efficiency), planar or a ribbon.
my experience with soft domes is that they're easy on the ears, but ruin cowbells. metal domes improve on that, but aluminum domes can be hard on the ears or even flat out resonant and while titanium can bridge soft dome treble softening with aluminum harshness and resonance, they have their own "rubbery sound" that takes away from from crisp transients.
i'm NOT a fan of horns which tend to sound shrill, spitty & shouty to my ears.
that leaves the 3 "ribbon techs". by having extremely low masses, they're able to snap faster & clearer without resonance or mass issues. i haven't heard a lot of them, but the ones i have heard have the speed that soft domes lack without the resonances metal domes add.
serious high output and efficiency air motion, ribbon & planar tweeters are seriously expensive though. that's my 2 cents
Thanks a bunch! I'll definitely look into those tweeters & I don't have a limit to my budget for these because I get almost $2000 a month & only have to pay like $300 for rent & eat cheap $1 pad thai chow mein noodles all the time. Now I just have to find out what the best micro subwoofers are; being around 6.5" & packing as big a punch as a SuperCube~EDIT: I just found this list of compact subwoofers
https://www.electronichouse.com/home-theater/killer-compact-subwoofers/
In the comments there's even one they left out. This should be of great help, I just have to find out which ones the smallest then I'll buy myself that one along with the Air Motion Planar Ribbon tweeters THUMP suggested. Thanks a ton yall~

I think you meant to address your comments to the OP, but in regard to your comment, I wouldn't waste my money on any tweeter in regard to this "project". It's a BAD idea that only gets worse with encouragement.
hey, let everyone "do their thing"the question wasn't whether the project is a good idea or not, but what the best tweeter is, and i weighed in on that.
personally, i HATE IT when people evade answering a question. OP asked a question, i gave an answer.
by YOUR criterion, i should never answer a question by anyone who wants to build a ported or line transmission speaker as THOSE are ripe with unbearable time delays, transient smearing and phase issues among other things, but that doesn't stop people from building those resonant bloated marshmallow abominations. LOL
DESPITE knowing what I LIKE, i have to put up with crap from elitists like you over my choice of sealed subs from people who plug their "LA LA LA LA" ears when you point out the numerous forms of well known for decades forms of distortion inherent in the design when you weren't even ASKING for their input on that topic to begin with.
it's not my place to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't build, just what i think about the specific question being asked. tastes vary. needs vary. if the OP has as much disposable income to throw at his idea, then let him live & learn.
there are no absolute right & wrongs in audio. just individual tastes and the reasons why they have those preferences. a superzero can't match a klipshorn in dynamics and extension, but nor can a klipshorn out image a superzero or match it's midbass speed and freedom from overhang. NEITHER option is "correct", just different sets of priorities.

Thx, never been called an elitist before. I assume this also applies to the dozen or so folks (on both speaker forums here) who found the OP's approach a bad idea..... some being far more blunt BTW. Also included was a very courteous (but not very "encouraging") response from an actual speaker designer.(Duke) If not, thx again, I'll stand the pain of being the lone elitist. And if you look near the top of this thread, you'll find that I did offer an alternate approach for the OP.
You'll blow your tweeters quickly. Just use a normal system with proper engineering and throw an EQ curve at it.
Bass is supposed to sound big. 6.5" is not a woofer size.
