Ok ...I looked over the article Art Dudley wrote up on this single driver
loudspeaker in Sterephile. I like Art Dudleys reviews .......
Anyways...I just can not understand how a single driver pair of loudspeakers
can cost 30,000.00 !!!!!!!!!!!
You have got to be kidding me?

Now, 2012, did anyone listen to these and can give a impression?
I think, they do a Demo at the High End in Germany this year....
In room frequency response in AD's room as measured by JA looked remarkably flat across a good part of the frequency range.
If it does indeed fulfill the promise of lowther virtues + decent bass without the upper midrange forwardness .... sounds like a dream speaker to me.
If they're 30k in the US, I shudder to think how much they'd be here in Australia ........ better go out and by that lottery ticket now!
they 10% cheaper our dollar buy 110 us nice quality. shame they didnt start with a good design. They break the most important rule of back horns turning at 90deg behind the driver. who wants a speaker that sounds like a piano.not that i would really now. i just thought another green eyed slag off to list wouldn't hurt.I am at mums and I am bored.they are ugly like pig dog mated with a grand.
Because there will always be people with more money than common sense.
so there is no question that a product that is hand made in Germany is going to be more expensive than a mass-produced one made in the third world. More expensive by multiples. That's just a given. Please see link.
And if you don't want to pay for beautiful German cabinetry, and the shipping of same, Voxativ makes drivers that you can buy and stuff into your own cabinets.
Please read ST's review of Rethm Trishna speaker, single driver plus Isobaric bass, all for $4000.
Cheers
Bill
if you saw them and, more importantly, heard them you would think, as I came to, that if any loudpseaker is worth this money this one comes close.
The construction, and the complexity of the construction, along with the drivers that are made by the company; a truly bespoke loudspeaker. I am a DIY'er and love to see a product brought to market that I could not dream of making. This is beyond most manufacturers much less the DIY'er!
Unlike most single driver systems, which I find I have to acclimate, these sound good from the start.
I heard them at the Atlanta show with a less than stellar front end though good electronics (FI). They were the only thing there I found to be interesting. Well, that is not fair, I was intrigued by CLASSIC AUDIO REPRODUCTIONS. Nonetheless, I was lucky enough to hear a variety of music over a period of one and an half hours.
I could not afford them. I, too, think the great number of super expensive loudspeakers to be a strange phenomenon and most of them strike me as completely ridiculous. But the VOXATIVs are something else entirely. There is a "there" there. I do not see how they could be offered for sale for any less money unlike most of the over-priced foolishness that leaves you shaking your head in disbelief at the chutzpah of the manufacturer.
I have not read Mr. Dudley's article but would not be surprised if he was impressed.
better then a pair of tannoy Westminster royals even? I bet the royals would have better resale.Or living voice are partner? out horned but there probably 60k anyway.
Tannoy Westminster Royals are not very good sounding speakers to start with. :)
I guess AD don't know what distortion sounds like.
Tiny speakers = limited performance
oh man surely they must be pretty good. Never heard them. You better tell me why there rubbish just in case I win the lotto. Perhaps I will just buy the living voice instead. If you heard the WR at the ces they prolly where not in a big enough room.
