well - maybe/kinda - Tom Danley has an explanation in whitepaper for you to compare here - performance looks better than some larger commercial pipehorn including my Yorkville (?)Jensen might have almost stumbled upon one but missed the boat by 53 or so years.
btw - wonder if Linas' 15 with Lowrider was really a tapped-horn variant - or hit upon improved BP? - wasn't much "path"
I think if you would stretch it to 88" and mount the woofer up close to the fist step, you would come close to the DTS-20.
yeah - but bet works pretty well at height Walt picked with that Ciare 12 coming in under 8CF bulk IIRC
Hello Freddy,The dimensions are: 15" x 15" x 67"
It is indeed loaded with the Ciare 12.00SW for proper powerhandling and x-max.
It goes very low (flat to 30Hz) and has good efficiency (about 94-96dB). I have to say the Punisher horn offers greater bass quality. I think this is due to the closed back chamber of the Punisher. But I don't think the Ciare 12.00SW driver is optimal for a tapped horn, it playes flat in a normal rearloaded horn without needing a tap. I think a driver which is more peaky in a rearloaded horn will give better results.
Best regards,
Walt
Hi Walt - wonder what parameters would be even better than ciare 12.00 sw wor this particualr design? -- (I realize you had the Ciare driver laying around for experiment) Best, Freddy
