I own several Japanese SHM disc which I like a lot, just curious have any of you listened to any of the Blue Spec red book disc? Am tempted to pick up a Hendrix but a bit pricey.
Follow Ups:
I have several and they are all good. I'm glad someone is putting effort into the cd/sacd. Which hendrix? There are several out on sacd.
Hawkmoon, days of the new rising Sun is the one I was thinking about, I have the Axis and Fillmore East SACD and they are both very good, I have had the are you experienced SACD on back order for quite a while
One of the cool things for me is to listen to the mono mix vs stereo mix. They must have had a lot of fun choosing which mix to use. Blu spec seems to be dying out as new cd materials come out.
This is available from get imports at a great price. One of my fav Hendrix cds. I'm ordering it.
There is a series of these Jimi Hendrix cds available from japan in the blu spec format. The Band of Gypsys CD has really good sound-bass line is easily followed, the mix changes from song to song and vocals and guitar are spot on. This is s good sounding rock cd. Recommended for all Hendrix fans!
The Hendrix are real good and the Steppenwolf catalog are incredible !
