hello dtyoshih,if you are using windows or apple, I recommend dbpoweramp, I'll put a link below:
it is $39 a license for 1 PC, definitely affordable, I would also recommend ripping the CDs to FLAC with compression level 0.
The CD softwares all differ in ripping quality, dbpoweramp takes care of that and there are settings in there you can click to get the best from your CDs.
also better to hardwire as it is a faster transfer of files :)
I've been ripping CDs since around 1993.

I'm pretty new to ripping files and sending them to the Sony HAP-Z1ES, but even I find dBpoweramp easy to use. I stopped copying the ripped files to iTunes, because the HAP transfer app finds them anyway. I've been using 0 compression, but I'll check out PAR's suggestion, even though the quality of sound with 0 compression is excellent. I use balanced from the Sony to an Ayre K-5xeMP preamp to an Ayre VX-5 Twenty amp that drives a pair of KEF LS50s.
Hi bullethead. Of course I agree with what you say but I thought that I would mention that dbpoweramp provides a selection in the encoder to make fully uncompressed FLACs which appears not to be the same as level 0 which, of course, it also provides.

Yes, that's the best.
I just checked my setting in dBpoweramp and discovered I've been using uncompressed.
