OK,I've never really been too much of a fan. Sorry, just cause she comes from Bath: she is pals with PG? Now, - I LOVE Peter, - but not his songs with her on it. "Don't give up," - no pathos, no angst.
Anyways... Aerial got recommended, so I got it, - to see what's up with Kate Bush. Will she get on a plane now? Has she backed off the smoke? Has she considered tight outfits? Punk Rock? The 90s?
Well hey, - this Aerial CD isn't really too bad. But hey, - what's up with this "washing machine" business? Surely, after 20 years, she has something to tell us that's not, well.... dirty laundry...
Or, is Sordidman just being a rat bastard?
(Yes, this is all art, all good, all subjective, all relative, just my opinion, blah, blah)...
If it's not love, then it's the bomb that'll bring us together
Follow Ups:
Yo Sordidman !
I admit that there is something about that song that cannot bear the scrutiny of the cold, rational light of day but when there's no one around - I admit that I find it strangely beautiful. Though I would never admit to this down the pub with the lads.
Sordidman is coming to town to buy the first round of pints....
:-)
"Seen you in the pub last night, a mutual friend of ours said he'd seen you in the uniform.."
And the masks, that the monsters wear
to feed, upon their prey
My favorite. Vastly preferable to rat bastard therapy, which I hear
has gotten quite pricey. Regards,

Watching the reel as it comes to a close,
Brutally taking it's time,
People who change for no reason at all,
It's happening all of the time.
"Don't give up," - no pathos, no angst. If you think that's the case you should try to listen to the version of it by Shannon Noll and Natalie Bassingthwaite. Then you'll know what no pathos and no angst is.
I see you are based in the USA, so you may not know these guys. One was a runner up in Australian Idol (Shannon) about two or three years ago, and the other is an actress from Neighbours (Natalie), who also has a band called the Rogue Traders.

I went to a restaurant that serves "breakfast at any time". So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance.
Pardon me...No insult intended.
But I refuse to have ANYTHING to do with anything that resembles, the American Idol, Australian Idol, - etc. etc. contests.
IMO, - and I realize that this is extreme, and perhaps a bit OTT, - these shows are completely wrong and border on the immoral. As a former/semi-current songwriter,- I find it grossly insulting an inappropriate that some person who has the ability to sing, (and that is often debatable), - will get awarded a recording contract for singing someone elses song, - often aping; without doing ANYTHING themselves.
It's just criminal... (But that is the ultimate indictment on the recording industry, - and why it needs to go, or at least be transformed away from it's current incarnation. Can you imagine, creative, imaginative, talented, and "new" artists that got recording contracts in the '80s and '70s wouldn't have a prayer of getting signed today).
Pardon the rant.

... turned down Frank Sinatra, Elvis, errr, are you sure?

"But I refuse to have ANYTHING to do with anything that resembles, the American Idol, Australian Idol, - etc. etc. contests"And quite rightly so. My point was that the version by Shannon and Natalie is bland, without merit and without an ounce of soul so, if you find the gabriel/bush version lacking in pathos or angst, then you will find no trace of it in the Noll/Bassingthwaite version.
There's a soundclip of the version I was talking about at:This Location ...If you can bear it!
