The leasing of pro gear is mainly for studio use...... There is often insurance backing the studio, leaving less risk......
Link is to a pro gear leasing outlet......

How much of that extremely expensive equipment do you think the dealers actually own???
Dave.
having not owned a stereo hifi shop and only going by what dealers have told me :they get deals on a particular brand that is hot at the moment - the manufacturer offers them a package of product at a discount price .
when the product is no longer " hot " or an advantageous offer is not there the product is dropped like a "hot potato "
this is somewhat offset by certain brands that they keep as mainstay products permanently such as McIntosh , Conrad Johnson, Klipsch ,,,,,etc
like I say this is what dealers have actually physically whispered in my ear :}

What's the case in small town BC might not be the same in St Louis or Pensacola... only your dealer can answer that for you. I think if one has to lease their stereo, they should be looking further down the chain.

I purchased a CJ MV50 amp from a used dealer in Pennsylvania. But it turned out my amp was "new" and came with a full warranty, because it had been collecting dust at a reviewer's home for 18 months. The receptionist at CJ informed me over the phone that it was "the last of the Mohicans," due to the fact that the MV50 had been discontinued, and mine was the last one "out there" that had yet to be warranted.
If the gear sounds like crap dance around saying so in your writing leaving the reader to read between the lines trying to decipher your review.
I never did and I have never known a dealer that leased any gear. Would not want to take the risk.
