My main amp went down & I started a thread inquiring about how & what I should trouble-shoot for, & Jonesy jumped in & got me started. My questions got so numerous & probably inane that I went off line with them. Jonesy patiently persevered, told me what to check, how to check, what I needed to perform the checks, & found the part I needed & where to buy it.
I am happily up & running tonight & I didn't have to spend a ton shipping my amp down to Raleigh or paying CAD to fix it & pay them for their (seemingly marked up) parts.
My hat is off to Jonesy; he is modest, but he knows some shlt.

Matt,
This is one of the goals of the Asylum - at least as I understand community-
Glad that you were able to revive your amp and continue to enjoy the music!
Happy Listening
Sure, I would rather participate in this then trade insults related to differing political political ideologies.
That is why I am publicly tipping my hat & saying thank you.
Glad Jonesy was able to get you through the repair. I'm just curious to know what the problem was and the solution.
Abe, I had no idea what I was looking at or for inside there, but it turned out that I had one (of four) signal caps that went bad (I assume shorted?) & my bias was running away on that side with my pot backed all the way off. The solution was four brand new Mundorf Evo Supreme SilverGold.Oil caps from Parts Conexxion in Ontario, Canada, @ about $50.00 a cap.
Both sides of my amp are back up & running & I am a happy Matt.
Nice catch by Jonesy ! Thanks for the details.
I was curious because I once owned a pair of AES/Cary SixPac monoblocks. Some of the Cary V12 design is similar to the SixPacs.
Glad you and Jonesy got your V12 working.
