The issue has mostly to do with what tubes could survive the current required, but it would have many of the advantages of solid state in that the tubes would run cool.

Ralph , you are absolutely right.I have started the design just for fun.
iF you think in something reliable in high frequency ,wich sustain certain overloads without going to the other world in microseconds ,you can choose a tube.Of course i use pentodes of tv deflection (but i can use others with different eficiency ).with the normal tubes im in the range of500 ma to 800 ma at the knee(in the range of 50 volts, depending screen2 voltage ).could be useful ( if somebody want use it for work )for PA sistems or electrostatic (here capacitive load form part of the output filter ).its amazing to see the locus point of operation , you look two points and the transit its done in the order of nanoseconds ( fraction of microsecond ).In the years i have design and constructed power amplifiers (1983-1988)
for PA i have found the most horribles reactive loads at the output i use at the output my autotransformers to keep the 100 volts line( like Mc Intosh ). Frank congratulations for your amps, well done !!!!
