I do have one concern with high back listening chairs or some couches that do reflect sound waves and give a false sense of the actually soundstage. This was happening with me with a chair I had like yours. It did sound good but I would notice a difference when I would sit up away from the backing. It kind of did what my screen tv did when it was between the speakers. Threw a blanket over it and it would stop that reflection.
Follow Ups:
The high back is not an issue because I recline back when I listen. The top edge of the chair back is then below my ears. I also have acoustic panels flanking the chair to the rear which ameliorate any reflective anomolies.
Seems to be an attempt to emulate listening situated at the rear of a closet.
