Hey Slap, slow down there buddy, you're starting to bring ME down now. Age has snuck up on me too, I retired 7 years ago but I'm still hanging in there & enjoying whatever comes down the pike. Like me, you'll probably be in for some surprising surprizes. Oh man, did I really just write that sentence with that "surprize" thing in it? Welcome to old age & unpredictability. I think.

LOL, Sorry! The important thing is that we still have music to listen to, in whatever form.
Slapshot, I neglected to congratulate you on your efforts & how much, for me, less stressful it looks. All gorgeous equipment both before & after, but well done my man. Many years ago I had a pair of Maggies powered by Hafler, with an AR TT. Very modest to be sure, but sounded very nice. I now have mid-level M.L.spkrs, Project TT, Emotiva CD & a Sheng-Ya Hybrid Int. Amp (don't ask, it sounds very good & I got it at floor model cost). My only regret is getting rid of the Maggies. To my old ears though, it all sounds nice for the modest level in which it resides, according to what I see most AA members have. So anyway, as my Granny used to say as she went out the door, "Okay little D, I'm gonna do something the devil never did, I'm gonna leave you for a while". Thanks Granny, I think.

Thanks, david,
I was introduced to maggies in college; took a long time before I could afford them myself, and even longer before I could maximize their potential (which I think I've come close to at this point). This really is a lifelong hobby, and it keeps changing all the time.
