love the outfit
Karen Carpenter; such a pretty lady, beautiful voice and a great drummer.
Almost fooled me at first, looks a lot like her brother. But yeah... very talented.

I wouldn't say hottest but I have an irrational attraction to Avril
I had an irrational attraction to Madonna.
she made 1984 even more fun
Ahn Trio
Valentina Lisitsa : Another unearthly talent/beauty combo
TINA WEYMOUTH From TALKING HEADS : still a crush
The Best looking in my mind of any era.
I can't single out just one, I love them all!
Had a wicked crush on her in high school and college.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Yes, thought of her...what a voice!
She lives about 30 miles from me. I've seen her perform a number of times at local venues. She's still a songbird, just a mature one. Close your eyes and you can go back in time.
...at the first performance of what was billed as the last Renaissance tour at a local, intimate venue.
Her voice is absolute ear candy.

Maria Muldahr?
I would have to nominate Mariza, also, for the title.

Come on guys, Margo's the one.
are my top 3 :)
Agree with Sade...and she doesn't seemed to have even aged at all either.
Bette Midler radiated more sex appeal than anyone I can think of. She
may not have been the best looking, but she knew how to get my attention.
I might have done some dumb things for a slice of her ...
I grew up in the 90's and thought Bette Midler always looked like this. I was shocked to find out she was once skinny.
You got that right. "Do You Want To Dance?" is absolutely dripping with sex appeal. I would have loved to have been that microphone (which I think was a U47 or U87).
:)
Yes please!
memorable outfit. :)
Rachel Price, Lake Street Dive (and she sings real nice too !!)
I'd have to go with Britney Spears, though I am not a fan of her music.
Desert album?
More like dessert album. ;^)
You betcha :)
Her slot machine in Vegas was very nice to me. I kept telling the machine if I hit the jackpot I'd buy all her albums. Maybe next time Britney.

"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" -Michael McClure
I've read that Julie London actually laughed at that those photos. It was simple glamour marketing - and it seems to have worked, because she sold a fair number of albums that way.
a large, lovely talent.

In college most of my closest friends were jazz fans so a half-dozen of us made the trip to the Detroit Jazz Festival at Cobo Arena in summer of '61 or '62. I didn't necessarily consider Julie to be a jazz vocalist but I loved her looks and voice so I was delighted she was on the bill that night.
The hour grew late and my friends were getting antsy to leave (hour and a half drive back) but Julie hadn't come on yet. I persuaded them to wait for one more next act, but it was not her. So they gave me the choice - stay and see her, but find my own way home, or leave with them. Even at that young age I was not venturesome enough to consider hitchhiking out of downtown Detroit at 1 AM. And so I missed my chance to see her live.
I do have a few of her LPs I bought in the early '60s, but always regretted not hearing her live.

I was in love with Dixie McCall! Never saw a nurse as hot during any hospital visits.
Single mom nurse.
pissed off on "Emergency!"...
I visited that fire station... ;*)
I saw her on Jack Benny doing the sexpot thing in a great dress singing something that went like this: daddy, buy me this and that. Very sexy see link below.ET

But it is Julie London who was quite the dish back in the day.
There is no beer in food, but there is food in beer.
Well done sir and of course her music loving first husband was Jack Webb and the lower pic was when she was a nurse on Emergency with her second husband Bobby Group also in the photo. Webb must have been pretty cool to hire his ex and her second husband.ET

Torn between her and Martha Argerich.

Yuja Wang is one of those modern classical musicians who I think made it big more on her attractiveness than the music actually produced..... A female Lang Lang, if you will........... If you listen to just the audio, without knowing who was playing, the performances are "meh" at best. (I don't care for Argerich either, but at least she does things that will impress listeners musically.... Namely those who like sheer speed in performance.)
She's not the only one..... I have a similar opinion of violinist Julia Fischer and pianist Valentina Lisitsa.....
...but the OP listed only two criteria, "hot" and "musician." Check and check. :-)

Linda, hands down... but I do remember having a big thing for Edie Brickell when her first video came out. Nowhere near the singer or stage presence Linda was, though.
I actually ran into Linda in a bar in 1971. Totally hot. We had a nice talk. Can't remember what - I was too busy looking at her.
I love her music, too. So sad about her Parkinson's these past few years.
:)
But second place for me is Joan Jett.

It's amazing that hipsters who insist they can hear sampling remnants in interpolated 24/96 digital waveforms can somehow fail to detect surface noise from their own vinyl LPs.

In terms of performance, synergy, power....Lucia is the best in my book.
Outstanding....thanks for this!
You're welcome. Glad you liked it. Going to see her in concert this summer and can't wait!
For looks (and quite possibly, playing ability), I would have to concede Candy as well.
It also helps that D-Wife is a blond! She's also not too hard on the eyes, I might ad!
Now if were talking about musical greatness, here's my take (mind that these cats KILLED it when in their prime)-
Guitar- Robert Fripp, Jimi Hendrix, and yes, even Kurt Cobain
Bass- Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Tony Levin, Sting
Drums- John Bonham, Ian Paice, Neil Peart (hometown boy!), Phil Collins and Mitch Mitchell
Keyboards- Keith Emerson, Ray Manzarek, Tony Banks (underappreciated, IMHO)
Vocals- Joni Mitchell, Greg Lake, Jon Anderson, Sting, Carly Simon, Carole King and Peter Gabriel
Cheers,

But since you brought it up; Kurt Cobain ??????
He really didnt have a very big (or even medium) catalog. I could think of 25 rock guitarists off the top of my head and rattle them off within a minute that I would put ahead of the currently room temperature former junky. I would say that he, and Randy Rhodes (Ozzy Osborne) had a similar length career - one had a untimely run in with gravity in a plane, the other messed around with the business end of a 12 gauge.
I like your pick of Ray Manzarek on keyboard. One could make a argument that he could be put in the bassist category as well, since The Doors never had a bass player and relied on Ray to keep rythm with John Densmore.
BUT, they have NOTHING to do with being hot....
Meat; It's the right thing to do. Romans 14:2
Well, Cobain (to me) was the opposite of those you've listed. While I admire them too (especially Mr. Van Halen, for example), I really liked the whole "anti-hero", non-posing attitude that was so prevalent at that point in time (think ANY hair metal band of the time).
Regarding Ray; I concede- he was a formidable player. Remarkable left/right hand independence. Hearing his playing (and seeing some footage/video of him going at it with bass left hand/melody on the right), I can't help but think of Bach (or Tony Banks).
As with all music- our feelings and likes/dislikes are highly subjective!

Supposed to have signed a pact with the Devil. So he'll be pretty hot now.
BTW, my friend's wife says that she could help Candi sew her sleeve back.
Its been said that he was so ugly that women fainted on seeing him play
Thanx Bill
