Hi all,
Don't get me wrong I truly LOVE LOVE LOVE my current system, and I'm glad my journey has led me to it... but had I known what it would take to get here when I started 2 years ago, I probably would still be using a table top TIVOLI radio :)
1, much money and waiting when buying stuff of Audiogon.... only to have the stuff not sound like I thought it would
2, all the reading of reviews probably got me more CONFUSED because I had no clue what they were talking about (with the exception of 6MOONS, I really do understand Srajan's writing, it makes sense to me).
3, having to tell my girlfriend things like "oh honey, THIS IS IT, this is the LAST piece I'm ordering, and then I'm DONE" lol
Other than a few cable upgrades down the line, I hope this is my final system (Red Wine Audio & Fritz Monitors).

Ha!
Thats my exact thought every time I buy new stuff, and new systems!
I'll give ya 6 months or a year before the upgrade itch starts again, I know its tough! you do have a fine system!!!
Read most reviews with a grain of salt.
Thanks deadlyvj - you could be right. gotta get stands next.
audio, and make excellent products at prices most of us can afford. Fritz is a personal friend who I know spends a lot of time doing R & D on each speaker model before he sells them.
I agree, from what I read about these 2 companies, they would just about have to synergize well. Two makers with a dedicated focus to make great sound, it should have to work just on the law of averages alone.

If you really LOVE LOVE LOVE your setup and sound, then don't let others make you feel like you have failed in any way. If you believe or want to believe that you can leverage improved sound from your investments, then dive head first into everyone's input. You will get plenty of it.
There is alot to learn in this hobby if you wish to. You can go crazy however and be driven to spending a lot of money if you give in to the dark side.
Nice system. Enjoy listening.
One question - The speakers are on the low efficiency side and the amp is 30 watts pper channel. Does it get loud enough?
In very general terms....
For an Audiophile it's all about the voyage
For a music lover it is all about the destination
That said... I am still eying those B&W 802Ds. I just wish I had the where with all to pull the trigger!
Enjoy!!!

In Audiophillia, one of the hard parts is learning what folks are talking about, and then learning what those terms actually mean in sound.
AAfeter that, finding out what sort of components do what. on down the line until one becomes a guru, and folks email you asking stuff you do not have a clue how to answer honestly!!!
You're no where near finished yet!
You need about 5 big drawers full of spare cables, connectors, isolation devices etc and two spare wardrobes full of spare or broken amps, cd players, old turntables and recievers, not to mention unused speakers in every room of the house before you're even half way.
After 2 years your journey is just begining.
Have fun.
Wait 'til the GF becomes your wife, and you''l learn about the dreaded WAF. And the "I swear, Honey, this is my FINAL system" BS won't fly. :)
Right now I am in a jam. When I come out of it, hopefully soon with a little help from my inmate friends, I will be a born again audiophile.
Enjoy that neat looking system.Add speaker stands.
Bill
Not trying to be negative but if you don't set your system up properly (speaker placement) you'll never hear what your equipment is capable of doing.

I'll probably get around to speaker stands soon, I appreciate the advice.
.....you need to do some research, here and elsewhere, to find out what to do when setting up a system properly.Room treatment
speaker placement
listener placement
isolation devices
to name a few.
Placed as such, you are only getting about 60% of what your system is capable of.

You call two years tough? I've been at it for four decades and I'm no where near done. Loved every minute of it.
