...well, comments on this one could be interesting... :)

...but I'll fess up and say I like her music for the most part. And Patrica Barber, and Holly Cole; certainly not just for "audiophile reasons". Yes, I've heard them a hundered times at home and shows, but I have an appreciation for their specific talents.
Just bought "All For You" and "Cafe Blue" on vinyl at the CAS last week. I suspect the CD versions won't come off the shelf for a long time now.

See ya. Dave
I just picked up her "live at Albert Hall" cd/dvd combo from Walmart for $14.
And even though it may not be her genre; she has one of those rare controllable power voices I'd place among some of the all-time great female soul singers...
may the bridges I burn light the way...
The CD hasn't even been released yet and already she is getting slammed by the effete audiophile
music critics. She may not be in the same league with Sarah and Ella but to me Diana is the sexiest ballad singer I've ever listened to.
The only thing that puzzles me about DK is how she could have picked EC over me.
Maybe, it is the CDees.
But you're right, that if she popularizes Jazz, she is doing just great!
.
Mr. Costello is one lucky guy. Obviously looks mean nothing to her. He is a spud.

I hope she sings this time instead of whispering through the whole album like "Quiet Nights."
I'm not impressed with her voice or her music. To me, Diana Krall has always been a bore. But hey, that's just me I suppose as so many audiophiles seem to love her.
I much prefer the talents of her husband.
Will never understand that, what's not to like.
You may have a good point though, she'll never be lady gaga....or beyonce.....or....Madonna for that matter.
I don't know.... I find that Diana's voice and music aren't very engaging. It's not very interesting, entertaining, and doesn't hold my interest. I tried a couple of her albums.
I'm not into Gaga, Madonna, or Beyonce. However, I find Etta James, Eva Cassidy, and even Norah Jones to be more to my liking.
I'm not a fan of Patricia Barber, another audiophile favorite. I like some Holly Cole.
If you want to be bored to death listen to Jahcinta.
Compared to most of the toilet music that is out today Diana Krall Isn't so bad.
you say that, Abe. Because I thought I was the only one that felt that way.
Amen to that!

Simplify.
I liked the "All for you" album with Nat King Cole material. The "Love Scenes" album was a yawner.
On average, I find her less boring than Patricia Barber.

... due to the fact that I had been hanging around a neighbor so much who always had DK playing. It was just too much overload. Sold all my DK and do not miss her voice. I feel much better now.
Why is it that these great artists always become victims of their own success. We all loved the quality of their recordings when we first heard them. They still sound great on my system, I just dont play them that much!
I was amazed to see that my copy of mobile Fidelity, Patricia Barber's Nightclub is selling for > $300 on Ebay!
Yeah, he's quite a character, isn't he?
I understand his talent, but his music simply doesn't move me. I don't bother to dissect it to find out why, it simply doesn't.
As for her, if I've ever heard her music, I'm not aware of it. I haven't sought out "Audiophile Approved" music since I left the audio society I was in over twenty years ago. Many members listened to tepid, uninspired, albeit well recorded music. I tried, but it wasn't for me.
Agree. I don't seek out 'audiophile approved' music.
Yes, I must admit that I like Elvis Costello, especially his music from the 1970's and 1980's.
Named my Jack Russell mix after Elvis. ;-)
RIP Elvis :

Not quite so good looking in person.
Do you think?
I've seen her in concert and she looked pretty bloody good to me....

"Glad Rag Doll" sounds like the title of a song her husband might have written.
but, no thanks. I liked her upbeat rymthm, but I wish she would get a new singer for her band ;-)
Thats one more dull demo CD that will be played at audio shows, on gear that can play little else withut falling apart..
