haven't heard that term described since HS(78)..;) haven't touched it since either!

Your name isn't really Alan Scott, is it?
He can do anything he wants. His powers are absolute.
That 'superhero' enough for you?
I am also certain he has his minions lurking around at all times to carry out his bidding.
Apparently, many folks, including me, thought the spoof threads were hilarious. It's too bad the mods have taken them down, although I can see how they didn't really fit the 'mission' of the asylum. Kudos to 2ch, Liz, and others who started and contributed to them. This post was going to be about forum traffic, advertising, and users. I was going to note that many posts were critical of Dutz' penchant for starting new threads - often without any clear reason or point - on a nearly daily basis and then not participating in the replies, and that a large number of replies to the spoofs and the 'real deal' threads stated how silly or uninteresting Dutz' threads are. But I got to thinking: If a person is uninterested in the thread, why do they bother to post and say so? Why not just ignor it? Anyway, I got to thinking: What drives advertising revenue? Hits. Views. Traffic. Despite all the complaining etc., there's no denying that the Dutz phenomenon resulted in more views and posts than any other thread topic in the General Asylum in recent months.
Too bad there isn't a way for the mods to simply "lock" a thread and say "sorry, no new posts", so that everyone's hard work and creativity wouldn't be simply tossed in the trash, like my third grade teacher always did - not that that had any effect on my mental development. :)

Its easy to see the formulaic way his posts work. So replicating Dudz was easy. He consistently follows a paint by numbers way of wording anything.
Many say just ignore him. But IMO thats a mistake. Again, he represents the site to its users and those visiting. Personally as odd as we all can be, Id hope theres a kernel of value to any post here. If that is forfeited then something has gone wrong. And really, what merits banishment then. Folks have gotten exiled for being jerks. Even those past jerks at least had a stake in bettering their stereo experience. With Dudz its all just a game. So why allow it??? I just dont get it.
Again, its called Twitter. He can go nuts there. They were made for each other.
BTW Bored do "lock" posts. They archive em. It keeps the post in tact but doesnt allow additions. They did it for Dudz Im BACK! post. So I know the B see Dudz for what he is.
Thanks for the nod to my fun back there. It was neat but Im also glad B cleaned house. It clearly was needed. But yeah, I too would love to see an AA scrap book. There have been allot of HiLarious posts here over the years. Also allot of memorable folks have come and gone. Craigslist has a best of section, that IMO, is one of its GREATEST parts. It has some of the funniest stuff Ive read.
One of my fav past posts was one Richardbassnut posted in response to some guy getting worked up over a local sale. He talked about a guy getting a western electric 400B shoved up his ass. I just remember reading that one a laughing hard.
Yeah, B make a best of or whatever scrapbook to AA. Were nuts and make some funny posts.
Perhaps the moderators read your post, as the "funny question" threads are all gone, not all of them were started by Sudz!
I thought some of them were hilarious, especially "Why do some stereos have lousy owners?". But I guess they had to go, perhaps we could have a special section to get really silly, maybe named "the Looney Bin". I know I would check it out as I enjoy a good laugh now and then.
"Happy Listening,
Teresa."
Maybe "Iso" could be tweaked for that.
It needs all the help it can get.

but so long as it's confined to General and they don't start running rampant 'round the other
rooms we should be OK.
Or as OK as OK gets around here.

if we are tenacious and the moderators do some fair intervention, we can all settle down to business.

Seem like nice people!
Looks like some of the audio get togethers I've attended. Same sartorial tastes! :)And it goes without saying, no women present.

In the film she wasnt THAT ugly. Well and Im a bottom feeder so, well, yeah...
And think about it, it would have put the place at rest! McMurphy could have influenced her and swayed her, to the light shall we say :-)
LOL
All humor aside, yeah it really does resemble a meeting of us nuts doesnt it LOL. And yeah no women.
Liz and Teresa are welcome however. We could use some kind fellow audio freaks at the ShinDig to breakup the sausage fest!
God, do you think this Dudz crap will ever end?!? For real, bring back Romy already and give some folks some actual audio related shit to yell at each other over. God damn this Dudz shit is getting old...
Nice breakdown earlier for PG. I dont think anyone here could have said it better.
Thanks! As much as I'd like to kick Sudz' butt, I do try to use rational discourse from time-to-time, if only to confuse people. BWAHAHAHAHA!

Part of the reason some of biggest heros are comedians.
I remember at 19 being introduced to Bill Hick's comedy styling. From that point on I was a changed person. Its weird the first time you hear someone talk honestly and from the heart without a vail of BS.
I look at guys like Carlin, Hicks, Patrice O'Neil, Jim Jefferies, Jim Norton, Bill Burr, and of course Prior as heros of the world. We really need to hear the truth about perception and the realities of life. Sad only comedians are allowed to speak in such a way in a public forum. Excluding literature of course.
Theres hope though. Look at the success of political satire like Daily Show and Colbert. Clearly people wanna have the BS taken away from reality. Granted it may be a bit left leaning but still, they try and tell it like it is.
Ah well, life will go on. As Im fond of saying, if the nukes arnt blasting and were not eating each other. Its a good day ;-)

Reality has a liberal bias; there's no getting around it...
I hear ya. Life is. But so far in the states we clearly havnt figured out how to handle it.
And clearly problems are coming from both sides.
But this morning when I woke to read the news and found ANOTHER report of this shit. MAN, WE NEED TO BETTER REWARD GOOD DECISIONS IN LIFE. Not the bad ones.
