Cancer. Took him suddenly. The reviewing community, heck the audiophile community in general, loses a fine writer and person. Whether or not you may have always agreed with him, he was shy about expressing his opinion. He'll be greatly missed. All my heartfelt good wishes go out to the most important thng in John's life - his family.
We'll misss you John.

It sounds like English, but I can't understand a word you're saying.

Just seeing this now. What awful news.. John responded to a few emails of mine and was always such a nice guy. He didn't know me from Adam and helped me make a few tricky choices - his opinions were always thoughtful and very well informed.
My heart goes out to his friends and loved ones.. I also enjoyed reading his unique take on gear and the hobby.
Sincerely, Marc White
I conversed with him via e-mail and he was always a fine gentleman and very helpful and knowledgeable, he also turned me on to OHM Micro Talls which I feel are one of the greatest bargains I have heard in audio, I am very sorry to hear of this decent man's death.
Well, the audiophile community really did lose a unique member then.
(Condolences.)

I was sad to see that. While I didn't interact with him one-to-one, I always read his reviews.
Cancer is a nasty business. My condolences to his family.
This is sad news indeed.
Meeting John had been on my to-do-someday list.
I always enjoyed his no-nonsense straightforward reviews.
The audio community is diminished without him. And we will miss him.
Best regards,Jim Smith
Sad news indeed. While I only knew him from his audio work, the AA, and some email exchanges John clearly was a talented, eminently sensible, and very decent chap.
My condolenses to his family.
Everything matters, don't forget to tweak your placebos!
So sorry to hear that. I never met him, but we've had some email correspondence, and he seemed like a very nice guy, with sensible opinions.
