Hi all,
As I get closer to a dedicated room, I'm becoming much more interested in room treatments and acoustics. The article in TAS was interesting, but $35,000 was a wee bit more than I could afford. Anybody dealt with Rives? They are so new they don't even have a Chicago distributor.
Follow Ups:
David Shapiro,I know Richard. I hired him to redesign my room, which he has done. The design results are brilliant and we are awaiting construction to hear the audio results.
In my situation, I had a dedicated room 25.3x15.9 with a peak ceiling from 9.4 to 14.11. There were more than a variety of acoustical problems. Pretty much, everyone who heard the room felt that it was the worst they had been in. Clearly, there were many simple solutions which would have decreased the overall problems.
BUT, having Tenor amps, Talon Khorus X's, Jena cables, a Rockport Serius and Aesthetix IO Signature, I figured trial and error at current construction prices was about as close to insane as I could muster.
Rives cost when considering construction costs and equipment costs for premier level equipment is nominal or frankly free.
He has been the single cheapest cost in the entire process!
So, if you are really interested, look on Audiogon and write to me with you phone number, I'll be glad to call you.
Best wishes,
