I called the U.S. distributor and he told me the remotes no longer exist. Now I'm stuck with a CD player with no remote. I'm sure I would have a hard time selling it with no remote.
Follow Ups:
Some Palm PDAs can be programmed to emulate a remote, and I believe they can use the Pronto codes which can be found for most things somewhere like Remotecentral. Palms often sell for just a few bucks at yard sales and thrift stores. Alternatively, there are programmable universal remotes.
What is the brand and model of the remote? I'll find you another one.
The first thing you should do is copy a new remote to a universal one.
Failing that, I'm sure you could find a willing person to copy their remote to a universal one (you send them) for you. That is assuming your remote's codes aren't already in the uni, or available (i.e. check the Harmony database for your unit).
Not the same as having the original remote working, but let's face it: just how much do you think not having an original remote would affect the value of your CDP *these days*?

Just get a universal one.
Heck I bet you could control it with and ipad if you wanted.
Afterwards we discovered faith; it's all you need
