Anyone have MF's email address? Strangely, they do not provide it on their website.

Sadly (because I like their products), I can't be too positive about my recent experience with MF. There is no public email contact address. You have to call them, which I did, asking for a schematic for a mid-80s Synthesis integrated I was doing minor repairs on. I was told, rather curtly, that they no longer have a schematic for that amplifier, which was "very old, probably 25 years old." (I had previously stated that I knew exactly how old it was, so I guess I can't subtract 1985 from 2009...) Since then, I've heard that they simply don't release schematics.
The person I spoke with even told me my A324 DAC from 2002 was also "very old." I guess I should be making enough money to buy their latest products every year.... Maybe he was having a bad day, but I was rather put off by the attitude I got.

Hi,
You could try indra@musicalfidelity.com or call them on the number shown on the website.
I'm in the UK and I've had MF gear since 1997, and my experiences with them via email and phone have never been anything other than positive. I had to have a XA50 repaired after I was very stupid with it, my Nuvistor pre amp was repaired/serviced by MF after 5 years of ownership for no charge when the volume control went faulty, and I recently chatted with Indra about the upgrade service they're curently offering and she was her usual pleasant, polite and helpful self.
Cheers
Al.
Al,
I have a theory about the difference in the experiences various people have had with MF. Perhaps if they are fixing a unit for you, that's one thing, but if you tell them that you're poking around inside the unit yourself, it's as though you have violated their territorial boundaries. As evidence, as I noted in another post, I found my DAC's cover is put on with tamper-resistant hex screws. So, I either have to buy a new tool or get out the Dremel.
Perhaps they are angry at the fact that someone is selling circuit boards on eBay, claiming that they are copies of old MF designs.

Thanks very much. I will try to email. I certainly hope your assessment of MF is more accurate than that of the others who have commented...
I have emailed them and left voice message many many times since last summer to get a replacement part, but NEVER get any response.
Their customer service is the WORST that I have experienced.
Their vendors are not helpful at all either. So good luck.
Me either, they don't give a shit. They leave communications to dealers and distributors.

Question "Authority", the mainstream media sucks - Go Independent and hold BOTH parties accountable instead of just the other guys!
I need music to help forget the reality of today
That's great news since I suspect my DAC needs servicing. Funny, I don't recall Stereophile mentioning the poor customer support in any of their trillion glowing MF reviews.
