There is the problem of sellers trying to stuff crap down a buyer's throat with the catch all phrase of 'break in'.
Some times break in is real. some times the words are used to try to stiff a customer.
One way to deal with it is to refuse to allow the concept to stop one from SENDING CRAP BACK.
I sent back a cable after almost a month, the dealer still trying to convince me to 'just give it some time'... I just said NO (actually No f*cking way)
On the other hand I did have a cable which sounded dreadful moment one. I was certain I would send it back. A few days later I was good with it.
Then some cables which were a total revelation moment one.. And they just got better....
