I have to provide outstanding recommendations for the VHAudio Flavor 1 and Flavor 3 AC power cords for my home theater system. I have an LCD front projector (L300U) and Bravo D1 DVD player connected via DVI at wide 768, and calibrated with the AVIA DVD. I ordered a 9' readymade Flavor 1 cord for my projector, and the parts for a Flavor 3 cord which was a fun DIY project using Chris's cable recipes on his site. The D1 cord I assembled myself and hardwired it in by soldering it to the 2 power pins inside the D1 case.

I replaced both power cables at the same time and the results were very impressive. The video picture for the projector picture (on a 100" diagonal DaLite screen) showed many improvements: deeper smoother blacks levels, and a greater depth of field - objects in the foreground really stand out from the background. Others have also commented on the real depth of field and 3D effect. The background itself is also better detailed and smoother. The picture from DVD's and HDTV & SDTV over DirecTV both showed these improvments.

These effects were immediately observed and very noticeable. More subtle shades of color also seem to be revealed. In addition, I could also hear more details in the surround sound field. It should be noted that I live in an apartment near an airport, and had no other power conditioner devices, only good quality surge protectors. I was prepared to see no or little difference and was really pleased to be able to see dramatic improvements in the video.

It has made me a believer that power cords can make a difference because I saw it on my own system with my own eyes, and the difference was great enough that it was easily discerned. I had never been completely satisfied with the combination of the D1 and L300U, but the new cords have brought a new WOW factor to them that I now feel I am getting the same performance from the D1 that others are getting with other projectors. The cost of these is very modest compared to many other power cables, and this was a great upgrade that I am very satisfied with.

This upgrade also impressed me because previously I had upgraded my component cables from good quality component cables to supposedly better quality component cables having silver-plated copper conductors, but saw no noticeable improvement - the picture was still just as good.

I would say anyone who wanted to try improving their video to try VHAudio power cables, especially if you have a front projector. The DIY option is very cost effective, easy and fun, too.
