You come under a lot of fire for doing a thankless job. Your every post and action comes under a lot of scrutiny. All of us are human and all human rules are imperfect by nature. I'd just like to thank you for making the effort that you do... your providing a HUGE service to everyone who uses this resource. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate what your trying to do and a lot of silent non-hecklers do also.Keep up the good work!

"You come under a lot of fire for doing a thankless job."Since when has unfair and uneccesary deletion of posts ever been a thankful job?
"Your every post and action comes under a lot of scrutiny."
Yep, as it should.
"I'd just like to thank you for making the effort that you do..."
Yes, the effort not to correct a problem that is blatently obvious, and to uneccesarily delete posts.
Frosty
Frosty, you know it is real easy to criticize and be part of the problem. Do you any suggestions for solutions? And asking Jon to resign is no solution. I have also noticed that you haven't contributed anything to the Asylum, those of us who care about the Asylum do our best to support it. I think you have made your point, could you please give it a rest.

You wanna know why? Because I'm a 16 year-old who doesn't have a lot of money and I need to save up for something important. Maybe before I could have contributed, but I always struggle to make any audio purchases- I don't think any inmate would agree that I should compromise my component purchases to donate to the Asylum. Now more than ever I can't spend a penny. I haven't even had my system running since a week before Thanksgiving. I love the Asylum, and I want to help. But apparently people don't want to acknowledge the problem that I see. What am I supposed to do? I'd appreciate any input.
Thanks and take care,
Neil
Neil,Life is a long chain of compromises. (Learn this before you get married :-). Three is no absolute truth, and John is making the best compromises possible. You are not the only one whose feathers get ruffled in this sort of exchanges. Throwing yourself behind you convictions is a good thing but for goodness sake learn when to quit. The matter is over and there is no more interest in it.
Sorry to hear your gear is down.... The people who are most capable of helping you to fix it are the same people you are trying to tick off :-) Both John C. and John R. are living legends in their own rights and there are few things in audio that they have not heard or touched. A little civility will get you a lot farther...
And one more thing, this is not the high school debate team practice session, winning is not everything. If you have any more valid grievances with how the board is moderated please air them in private email to the bored members.
