I have a Blue Circle BC-2 phono preamp that I would like to try an aftermarket power cord on. Unfortunately, Blue Circle saw fit to mount the fuse holder directly about the IEC socket, and there is insufficient clearance available between the socket and the fuse holder for the large connectors typically used on better power cords to clear. Is there such a thing as a short IEC female to male extension that would allow me to clear the fuse holder? As far as I can tell, the only other options are to drill another hole in the back panel of the BC-2 to move the fuse holder (not an attractive option), continue using the Pangea cord that I has been using, or replace the BC-2. Any other ideas that I may have overlooked?

Thanks. I had been trying to avoid an item that used a section of cable like that, but being a Shunyata product it may be okay. Much appreciated!
The cable is approx. 18" long and came with my CD transport. It connects to the DAC so it supplies power when the CD is turned on. I'm using separate power cords from a PS Audio P5
Hi Mike_in_MD,
With the use of just about any audio cable or power cord adapter, degradation of the audio signal or AC delivery will occur. So the adapter will work but a penalty will be paid, in that the reason to choose an audiophile-quality power cord in the first place will be affected by the performance of what is essentially an ordinary short-length stock power cord with a molded IEC jack being positioned between the audiophile-quality power cord and the IEC inlet, and will audibly get in the way of what the power cord is intended to provide for the listener.
There have been some pretty creative suggestions here. I'll pull the BC-2 out of the system today so I can check out the lay of the land, and get back to you with what I finally decide to implement.
Here you go...
Maybe have it cryo'd to make it audiophile approved?

You could try using one of Furutech's in-line power filter :)
to a lower profile one that fits the same hole? Not sure what's in there now, but see link for an example.Cheers!

Good idea, Jonesy. Another option is to use a large diameter nylon washer (or two stacked) with an inner opening that just fits over the body of the IEC inlet, and mount the IEC inlet on the spacer with two holes drilled to pass the mounting screws through onto the chassis panel. Not particularly elegant, but given the choice between that and not being able to use a conventional audiophile-quality IEC connector makes it an easy decision to ponder.
The narrow profile Furutech FI-C15 Slim Design IEC Connector is intended for an application such as that.

At first glance, I thought that was exactly what I had been looking for, but upon looking closer I see that it's actually a replacement end for the power cord. The BC isn't worth much anyway - when I bought it, it was damaged in shipment so FedEx paid off on it. I took the money and sent it back to the factory and had it repaired & the power supply upgraded. They won't pay off on it again though were I to sell it. I'd rather not mess with the cords, as they're probably worth more than the BC-2.
Do you mean something like this?
I'll have to check the orientation of the iec on the phono preamp. Hopefully, it's available somewhere besides Denmark. Thanks!
Is this what ye seek?
What I would really like would simply be a female IEC molded into a male iec. But that may not exist. Including the cord as shown would largely negate the reason for using a better power cord in the first place, or so it appears to me.
I understand. I have a box of these left from prior installations of AV systems. If you want one PM me, I will send it for just the shipping.
