Recommendations please for reterminating our TG Audio HSR speaker cables, which are a solid core silver wire.
We want to stay with spades.
Normally, I would think of copper terminal on copper wire, silver with silver (if not using a plated terminal).
BUT
We have Merlin TSM-MXs with Cardas CPBP bare copper binding posts, which begs the question:
At what point in the chain do I change metals?
If I use copper spades, my Ag/Cu interface is at the terminals, under crimp and solder.
If I use silver spades, Ag/Cu border is at the binding post/spade interface. I'm not sure I want any dissimilar metal hanky-panky going on there.
Copper and silver are both in the same Periodic Table group and I'm not planning on having the audio system in water...I don't forsee a major problem.
I am a retired chemist and welcome comments from a more electronically-literate inmate! If I get plated (which is original equipment), then at least there's no real issue of corrosion at the least.
Oh yeah, Cardas Eutectic or WBT solder?

So that is affecting my judgement 😜

I tend to agree with those not recommending retermination, especially if you like the sound now. Not sure why this would happen unless the casing was some sort of heat-reactive material like heat shrink.
Unless you move them around a lot, several layers of the 4:1 heat shrink suggested by WntrMute2 should be enough coverage to protect the ends.
If you can't stand it, then the spades recommended by Duster are good ones.
Yeah, I think I might just give the existing spades and the exposed wire a good cleaning. Then wrap the bare wire with some Teflon tape and cover with shrink wrap. The spades are good quality (XLO?) and could be salvaged if you just wanted to re-terminate. I would suggest Audioquest 1014 (silver plated) as a good fit for that solid core silver (16 ga?)...if you want to go with new spades.
Went overboard and looked into foamed PTFE tubes,
think tape would be fine.
A favorite moderate-cost spade for a solder-terminated speaker cable is the Xhadow Reference Spade, which is a silver-plated pure copper universal stepped spade that fits both 6mm (1/4") and 9mm (5/16")binding posts. The Xhadow Reference Spade sounds very good, with no brightness sometimes associated with silver-plated cables. A nice choice to use with a solid core pure sliver speaker cable. I'm sure Bob Crump would approve it for a re-termination project. Out of the two solders mentioned, I'd choose the Cardas solder for the task.

Why the same solder I've always used for many years, since I know how it melts/flows. I use Wonder Solder Signature, the thin leaded .031" type.
Going straight to the site, thanks!
Why not get some 4:1 heat shrink tubing and slide it over the spade connectors and shrink it? The pull-back of the insulation is only an aesthetic issue IMHO. Wirecare.com has high ratio heat shrink tubing I believe

Love it, thank you!
