It's not uncommon for aftermarket sellers to use a cable intended for line-level applications for use as a DC umbilical. The information shown in the image indicates the cable is silver plated. I don't know if that's "approvable" for use with Naim gear, which tends to have pretty strict criteria when it comes to cabling.

Thanks, for the reply
could you also give your opinion on the other sellers item too ? using Gac-1. i've used this seller before and his RCA lead wasn't bad.

thanks,
Gotham GAC-1 is a coaxial cable, with one center conductor and shielding. A Naim Snaic 5-pin cable cannot be built with it.
I can't find information about the original Naim Snaic cable design. If it features silver plated conductors, the Van Damme cable could be a good choice, especially for the DC power conductors.
Ok thanks,If my brother can't repair my one I'll open it up and post a few pics. Going by what you and naim say I might just buy it from naim if the repair fails. It's so tempting to buy 3rd party cables as I like van damme, van den hul and all.

I suggest asking the seller about the original Naim Snaic 5 cable.
Ask him something like this:
"Does the original Naim Snaic 5 cable have silver plated wires? If not, why does your cable have silver plated wires?"
The seller will either say the original Naim Snaic 5 cable does have silver plated wires, or tell you why he thinks silver plated wires are better than bare copper wires.
Sounds like a plan ! Let's see what he says.
Thanks again,
I look forward to knowing what he says, SOUNDY.
So...
I messaged the seller and the response was:
"I think Van Damme cables are very well made. I think the screen is copper, and the conductors are a mix of copper and silver. It is well insulated."
I respect that even though it doesn't answer the questions you instructed me to ask. I already use van damme speaker cables (hifi edition) so agree with the "well made" statement. I must admit I am tempted to take a chance especially if there isn't a risk of damaging my preamp/power supply and if the cable can actually handle 24v DC.
Does the seller offer the right of return if not satisfied? Give it a shot, and hear if it might provide what you seek.
It's quite a bit less than the original cable, and the cable should be fine for the 24V power conductors. Maybe it will hit the spot.
