Sorry it didn't work for you. Keep in mind that Paul Speltz at anticables uses the Schroeder Method on his level 6 speaker cables (no splitter). If you have an extra set of speaker cables around go for it!
Keep in mind that a speaker cable application is a different animal than other signal cable applications, so it's apples and oranges. A double run of speaker cables is a well-established option to consider, although unnecessary if a large aggregate/effective gauge speaker cable product is chosen instead.
No surprise. Those I know who have tried it found it to be somewhat of a flop as well. But I think his initial success was with TEO IC's. Don't know if this method equally applies to all IC's, but apparently not. No interest here.

A double run of line-level cables is the most "unsound" concept I've ever read about somebody advocating for the purpose.
