Where can I buy an inexpensive but good quality interconnect cable for a vintage stereo cassette recorder (Revox B-710II) with narrowly spaced input and output sockets? I heard a myth (or is it true?) that even thin vintage cables (like Tandberg and Nakamichi) sound better. If so, is it because copper was of better quality?
A link to a source would be appreciated.
Follow Ups:
Both of the prior recommendations have sort of fat RCA which may not squeeze into the small space a few bits of gear use.
(I had a Audire amp with tiny holes leading to the RCA.. PITA to fine matching tiny diameter RCA which would fit through that hole!)
Anyway, Vampire Wire 'Tiffany style' RCA are pretty slim.
And there are others which have a thin (narrow) barrel to fit in tight places.
The molded rca connectors of the Mogami 35 or 36 Series rca interconnects will fit the I/O jacks of a vintage cassette deck such as the Revox B-710 II (Note: the photo was taken when the unit was placed upside down).
The image shows the spacing of the rca jacks, which is narrow, but not too narrow for my suggestion based on the OP's stated criteria.
I don't know where the notion came from about vintage cables sounding better than modern cables featuring much better copper quality than years ago. Perhaps the idea is partly based on achieving a more "vintage sound" when vintage cables are used for an old Revox or Nakamichi cassette deck.
If you wish to use an rca interconnect that is similar to an old school stereo patch cable, the inexpensive Mogami 35 Series or Mogami 36 Series are very similar to the stock rca patch cables that came with my Nakamichi cassette deck in the late 70s. I would not be surprised if Mogami made the cables for Nakamichi at that time.

Thank you, it seems to be exactly what I need. I'll explore it further when I have time.
I like Monster Cable interconnects. They have excellent 24k gold plated RCA turbine connectors with split center pin for maximum contact pressure:
