From what I gather, the proper impedance setting is determined by the input impedance of the component that's located at the load end of the cable.
If you are unsure of the input impedance, I suggest choosing the setting that sounds best to your own ear; with the best gestalt for your particular audio system.
Listen to the leading-edge transients of the signal, and choose the setting that sounds most naturally presented within the soundstage. YMMV

Thank You. It's actually less important how that thing sounds and more if the DAC will lock the signal from the transport at all. So far it is erratic. The drive is spectral SDR-3000 and the dac is Audio Note kit.
I saw some enthusiastic posts from the past praising that combination
but it's bollocks and a sheer luck. Supposedly Spectral only works with MIT cable and the only combination which is guaranteed to work is with SDR-2000 DAC. The other dac's may or may not work which was confirmed by spectral factory tech.
That's what I call mandatory synergy. I suggest contacting MIT with a photo of the cable, and the makes/models of your digital front end for their advice.
