Indeed. While the molded connectors of either type of adapter tend to be very sub par, at least the conductors, dielectric, and geometry of a good pair of rca interconnects will be better and provide better SQ than the typical cheap coaxial cable that Y-adapters tend to feature, with the only downside being an additional connector interface.

He didn't specifically mention he wanted an interconnect , so my mind's eye was picturing something like the adapters we both chose, except with three male RCA plugs. That didn't make any sense to me, which is why I asked.I agree with you, the adapter, with good quality interconnects, should give better performance than a cheaply made single to dual channel interconnect.

An rca Y-adapter tends to imply a splitter with an integral cable involved, while an rca adapter tends to imply an I/O splitter, without any wire involved.
