I saw an add for some Sonus wireless speakers. They don't look audiophile grade, but can audiophile wireless be far behind?
Any engineering types out there know if quality wireless speakers are on the near horizon?
Thanks,
Jim

IME, audiophile cabling is not a problem, it's a fascinating hobby-challenge. Since there's ever-changing technological innovations and evolutions within the particular topic, this fascinating aspect of audiophilia should continue to be worthy of great interest, without dread.
If one finds a hard time enjoying "cable acquisition challenges", they can simply choose a reputable audiophile cable maker with a reported "house sound" that may pique their interest. Furthermore, one might wish to obtain a set of cables and power cords that instinctively and/or technically credible end users find more than satisfactory for their own wants/needs. If their make/model gear is same/similar to yours, then all the better: Such is the nature of "plug and play" audio systems (and that's okay).
But, if one wants to include cables as an important part of their "audiophile discovery experiences" within the hobby, the best thing is to do is to read as much as possible about the topic (audiophile evaluation listening cues in particular), then go ahead and experiment as much as one can afford towards this aesthetic as well as intellectual hobby, which is indeed an "audio quest", in my decades-long hobby experience.
What this means is: Decide to find a source/solution you can trust, then move on to another aspect of this hobby to slay then "get thee behind me..." (or simply enjoy the cable ride...).

Problem with wireless is it has to have enough bandwidth, AND all that money you spent on converters.. now you need one more for each speaker..
And generally self powered speakers will have to have a powercord anyway.
Batteries.. No way..
with two models but I have never heard or even seen them to offer an IMO.
tmsorosk is it because of the wireless or just less high fidelity headphones?
I have Sennheiser wireless earphones which have excellent sound...speakers should be around any month now.. They would need to have built in amps I would guess.
I have some cordless Sennheiser's too and there quite good, but they have along way to go before the'll sound like my 600's.
I have Sennheiser 650's with upgraded Cardas cable and am running them balanced... and have cordless Senns HDR 170's...When you A,B them, ...sure, the 650's sound better, but the 170's are extremely satisfying by themselves.
