Joe, what power cords are you using for your Electrostatics if you don't mind my asking?
I've used off the shelf computer PC's, Purist Musaeus, DIY VH audio and Acrolink. Frankly the changes were small but Acrolink seemed best to me not sure if worth the cost.
On other gear both the Purist and Acrolink were a huge improvement.

If you don't mind my butting-in, I've had good results with the Blue Circle Audio BC-68 power cords/conditioners on my 989's. Haven't tried any others because I'm been very pleased with them.
The one depicted is the original version and the model I have.
Something to consider.

I've alway just used the cheap $99 Shunyata Venum. Power cords on ESLs shouldn't matter at all because I don't think the speaker "sees" the power. You can test your power cord by actually unplugging it and playing music and seeing if you hear a difference. I never have, so no reason to upgrade.
The only comparison I've made has been between the stock power cord that came with the 989's and the BC-68 power cord. The difference isn't subtle and I prefer the Blue Circle cords. Everyone's preferences are different.

It also might be a difference between the 989 and the 57s. But I'll be on the lookout for the BC68s to give them a try :)
