How good is this cable? it looks nice looking to upgrade my stock powercord on my krell 400xi intergrated.

I bought one because I could not resist the price. It was worth it for the audio jewlry funtion alone. I am still evaluating the sonic effects, but it does seem to be an improvment over the junk printer cable that I had on my Threshold CAS-1. It is a very well made cable. You are definitley getting your money's worth, and then some, in build quality. I will post when I have a more difinitive answer on the sound but the people who have tried it seem to like it.

It's one hell of a power cord IMHO. Thick sucker, isn't it? The thinner AC-14s are also good. I find the AC-9s particularly open and dynamic on my SET monoblocks.
I can't imagine such heavy AWG stranded copper in lots of PVC and shield NOT sounding too thick and bottom-heavy, but maybe Pangea does something different? I'm especially worried the very top end would be rolled off.On MY SET amps, I find smaller AWG power cords to work better, with less shielding.
BTW, how does AC-9 differe from AC-14 sound-wise?

Interesting. I phoned AA in December to inquire about the Pangea Power Cords. I told the salesman that I planned to use them with a tube preamp and amps. He said that the Pangea PC's were better suited to solid state electronics, but didn't elaborate.
Anyone else who is using them with a tube system have any feedback?
I'm with you. Or I was until I got the Pangeas, which screwed up my mindset on the subject of "garden-hose" power cords. The AC-9s are NOT thick-sounding in any way, not in my system or those of three friends. I've not done a direct comparison of the AC-9 and AC-14 on the same equipment, but a friend is in the process, and I'll probably hear from him soon. BTW, the AC-9s are amazingly flexible considering their girth.
I've been using a pair of AC-14s on Atma-Sphere M-60s (fed from a PS Power Plant Premier) and a pair of AC-9s on a pair of REL Storm 3s (from the wall). Both cables are very well made and flexible and AC plug quality seems decent, especially considering the price. (The 14s are designated for line-level use, but I figured, since the A-S amps only draw about 300 watts, why not use them on the amps?) After 12 -15 hours of use, this is what I've found: Initially, both cables sounded "dead" and somewhat rolled off, the 14s more so than the 9s. With time, both have opened up considerably. I'm noticing that some things in the music that I was vaguely aware of are now more distinct and "present" because of some increase in clarity (quieter? less distortion?). On the subs, there is better pitch definition and the A-S amps have more of a sense of ambience. I will try the 9s on the amps once I find a way to support the cable at the amp end (the amps are several feet off the floor) and will post results later. Hope this helps.
