Hi folks,I intend to make some AC powercords using CVH's DIY cords for my Nuforce Ref8 amps. Appreciate any opinions/experiences on which Flavour would be more suitable. I am currently thinking of going for the Flavour 1(due to the RFI from Nuforce switching power supply)

Maybe the Auricap Tweak would do well with the NuForce to supress noise being dumped back into AC. It does great at reducing a digital transport's AC noise backwash...I read a post in Amps and replied with the same (see link):
I had considered it but according to VHaudio's website, the Auricap is not tested for AC power ratings....hence I guess there is potential electrical mishap risk.
This is true, but I have not read a single report about an Auricap Tweak mishap. Perhaps an AC rated x-cap would be more acceptable (but won't sound as good).
Are there any other AC rated caps other than the X-cap?...any as good as the auricaps?
I have to agree with Duster here, never a difficult proposition. I have Flavor 4's connected to both my PS Audio HCA-2 and PCA-2 w/HCPS. IMHO, they are the best PC's for the price. I haven't tried the Air Sine.I have used the Flavor 4 with a Parasound A21 also. In both cases my amps sounded better clearer and quieter with the flavor 4 than with other PC's I had tried. Cardas, LAT, DH Labs Though I still have the DH Labs connected to other components), and several of my own DIY insanity.
The flavor 4 is a great PC. I would think especially with digital amps where I have found particular sensitivity to PC's and footers.
The Stealth power cord NuForce recommends is a shielded 9 AWG design. If you go with a Flavor 4 (also 9 AWG) you can do without a shield due to it's self-shielding star-quad geometry. The Flavor 4 is great on amps, and is also popular for use on digital transports which have a substantial noise issue to address, so I expect it would do quite well for your needs. I think Chris VH would agree...
Unless you mod other AC connectors, the Flavor 4 can only be terminated via screw termination method (vs. direct soldering a tweaked clamshell type connector) with some (but not all) Furutech or any Oyaide product. Some of the Furutech's, and all of the Oyaide's have a "dual entry" termination slot that can accept the Flavor 4's two 12 AWG wires per leg. While not inexpensive, the connectors are excellent and are a great DIY value, IMHO.
