I had a Bryston 3bst and a AR LS-15 for a short while. I liked the Bryston better with the matching BP-20 preamp. The LS-15 surprisingly caused more listening fatigue, added too much noise, and the volume control wasn't fine enough(yes the tubes were good). The all Bryston setup was easier to listen to and dead quiet, but was just a bit steril. I'm not saying AR stuff is bad, just that in this case it didn't fit with the rest of my system and I liked the Bryston better.
