I just saw a video review of the DECWARE amps....I don't remember the particular model, but it was all of 2 or 3 watts a side.
Any takers? Man, it sounds like JUST the thing with high sensitivity speakers. They make a couple higher powered models which would be PERFECT (on paper, at least) No feedback is the advert claim....
Any experience with such amps? Worth it? And don't forget the lifetime guarantee to the original purchaser....
Too much is never enough
Follow Ups:
I've had 300B SETs and still own 45 SET mono blocks with all of 2 watts at best. I love them; however, you have to have the right speakers, typically horns with sensitivities over 100bd and preferably about 105db.
The other issue of concern is that the amps have to be dead quiet. With just the slightest hum that wouldn't be noticeable at all with typical 87-90db speakers, that hum will sound like a loud buzz on 105db speakers.
Anyway, Decware has a good reputation.

Jives 100% with other stuff I've been hearing
DecWare is reputed to be VERY quiet.
I'm thinking Klipsch Forte IV of about 95db sensitivity (Stereophile Measure) and the 20 a side amp...
I think this would work, but IF not, the 25 a side amp is available for added $$$......and complexity.
Too much is never enough
Hmmm, I've got Altec Model 19s which are rated at 99db and had tried a Dynaco ST30 and it was real close, but it just didn't quite have the gas to control the 15" woofer with authority. My Classe DR9, 100wps SS, was terrific, but dangerous if the boys cranked up to much. For grins, I also tried my 45 amp which I knew wouldn't do and it didn't although it sounded great within its power capability.
I finally put my Atma-Sphere S30 into the system and have kept in there. It's 30 watts into 8 ohms and is just right.
Of course, it all depends on how loud you want at your max concert level and how big the room is.
-Rod
Used it about two years before I changed from Klipsch to a less efficient speaker. It was the "fastest" amp I've heard and it imaged like crazy. Back in the day, it was $500 with no-frills aesthetics.
I bought a 4 watt Decware Mini Torii .v2 used about 10 years ago. Love it, wonderful sound with 40's Brimar 6V6g st tubes. I use a 92db Ref 3A de Capos speakers in a 20x12 room with open sides it is plenty loud-not concert loud.
I have also used them with Klipsch Quartets (97.5db) and very loud and just as sweet.
Love my de Capos they sound wonderful rich and detailed, have looked for more efficient speakers but then it becomes a size issue. The standmount de Capos are nice looking and not too big.
A kit most anyone can build with the most complete documentation of any.
With a 430 Volt B+ and EL-34s, about 4 Watts, 95dB speakers do everything well save large orchestra and chorus like Mahler Symphonies.
"Eventually you make enough mistakes that you learn something and it looks like talent."
for quite a while and really liked it but it wasn't ideal for the speakers I wanted to keep so sold the amp.
It was pretty sweet.

Do you think the 20 a side DECWARE would be a decent match for 96db sensitive KLIPSH Forte IV?
Klipsch calls 'em 99db, but stereophile got a 3db lesser measure....
Too much is never enough
Drove the Trente just fine at pretty loud levels in ultralinear mode; less so in triode.
Trente are 88db.
Would have liked to have matched it with some Ref3A Dulcet I once had, but...
The Trente and the ARC SP3A have treated me VERY well for years.
I think Klipsh are even easier to drive than their db levels even suggest, so you might be OK.
Ayway, Decware is top shelf.

They are out of Peoria Illinois as you probably know.
The fact they offer the warrantee you mention along with no dealer markups as they sell direct makes them an attractive option dollar wise.
Ive considered the phonostage at just over a thousand dollars seems a very good deal and imo the basic black base is very attractive.
Just know if you place an order be prepared to wait for delivery as they are always struggling to keep orders current.
Buisness must be good!

Just South of my home town, up until I was thru my 2nd year of HS.....
ONLY time I ever saw Peoria was from the water. Family vaction in the boat.....starting basically in Lake Michigan, going down the Chicago River, to the Illinois River than thru all sorts of towns, ending up in Kentucky Lake.....Where I saw a sternwheeler....Call it '64 or maybe '65.......
River running is quite different than open water...be it ocean or medium on up lake cruising. You must watch CONSTANTLY for obstructions, 'floaters' and the navigation aids. Not to mention 'tow' traffic.....Somethimes a tow would be 2 bardges WIDE and 8 long. Or larger. Stay OUT of their way!
Too much is never enough
My older brother attended St. Beade Accadamy in Peoria way back in the mid 1970s the only high school with dorms and a real museum inside its walls.
Sadly he passed many years ago.
On the river boating;
around 1987 me and several friends went to stay in a cabin in Wisconsins upper eagle river chain of lakes for a week of fun!
Logging trucks were visable everywhere.
I took my boat out and all lakes are connected by thoroughfares with clear pathways through what can only be described as swampy bogs.
Well i decided to open her up in one of these thoroughfares and suddenly came to an abrupt and immediate halt...that threw us all in the drink!
Neck deep in water and knee deep in muck we all safely climbed back in the boat.
Wondering what I hit Shelly pointed to a 4 foot log so waterlogged it sat just underneath the dark brown rootbeer colored water and as it spun sure enough fresh cut marks.
Mind you this log was BIG and waterlogged making it even heavier. It had no problem stopping our boat, lesson learned!
It humbled us all!
Enjoyed your testimony and felt id share a touch of mine.
Stay healthy!

Name for 'hidden' / submerged logs escapes me right now.
But they ARE a very big hazard. Rivers change over time. Sometimes quickly or slowly and ALWAYS make you pay attention. A proper watch must be kept.
Underwater logging IS a thing. A 100 year old specifmen can be quite valuable. Specialty types, like instrument makers love such wood.
You're lucky you still had a boat.....

I did not know Decware was operating from Peoria. The place needs some cool.
Gsquared
He used to be in Morton and is now out of East Peoria.
I was born in Peoria but lived across the river in rural Woodford County with an East Peoria address for the first 20 or so years of my life.
Only University in Peoria would be Bradly. Used to hang in the Steak and Shake down Main Street from Bradly.
Other that Richard Pryor, Peoria still has no cool. :-(
have you not ever heard of Decware until recently ?
Nope.....quite new to me...but the review was very interesting. Not that I believe most reviews, not knowing enough about specific reviewers....But this just sounded different and a company with an approach and philosophy I'd like to know more about.
The idea of 20 x 2 into 95+ db sensitive speakers is quite a change from panels requiring several hundred SS watts to 'move'....
Any DecWare at retail so I can go hear 'em?
Too much is never enough
Decent Company.... I have looked at their Products, but have been more 'enthralled' with 'True' SET amps -- The 45, 2A3 and 300B amplifiers.
But, for $1,000 Bucks you probably can't go wrong. Also, since I wanted a bit more "Customization" of my Amplifiers I ended up buying from Tube Audio Labs. TAL just built me a Pair of Jeff Korneff Clone 45 Monoblocks. I got to pick out the Chassis, Parts, Tube and Transformer Layout etc of the Amps.
The Builder will build you anything you want. - Mine Turned out Fantastic! -- A great option, if you know exactly what you want.
