Hey Cayin owners.
I heard a rumor that Cayin was sold after the manufacture of the original A-88T. Then supposedly the later versions MKII and MKIII are simply knock offs, and don't sound as good as the original Cayin. Is that true? Those of you that have listened to both the original, and one of the upgrades versions. Which do you think sounds better?
Follow Ups:
I have a Cayin A-300P which I no longer use but hold in high regard for both construction and sonics. The 20 wpc is simply not enough for my current speakers. I should sell it but held off since I expected that could be difficult with no US importer at the time. Now apparently VAS is importing them.
Sorry but I don't know about corporate ownership or variations in production over time. You might try contacting VAS with any questions.

I see Elusive Disc sells a number of Cayin models. This should be reassuring.

I've always been worried about the lack of dealers re service issues
Cayin still has gear on their website. But have VAS only listed as a place to buy in the USA. Although I find a couple of dealers on the internet listing Cayin. I guess if Cayin gave the schematic the gear could be serviced anywhere. Who knows? Maybe Cayin will fall into the situation Consonace did. No one intrested in purchasing their gear. If we can't get it serviced, we wont buy it.
