Well, I'm not sure what the price will be for the AX-8 but it looks like a nearly ideal space saving 'combo device' that I wouldn't mind having in my office setup. With 3 traditional analog inputs (including one balanced pair) as well as 6 digital inputs, and the ability stream Qubuz, Spotify, and Tidal via Ethernet, it looks like you get a quality amp, DAC, and streamer in one neat package. I'm not sure if it's also Roon-ready.
The Ayre AX-7e was one of the very few solid-state integrated amps that I really like.... and I've compared several others. I'm listening to it as I type this post. I wonder how the new AX-8 will sound.

Nice pics! Abe-
I would like to see Ayre build a more powerful integrated to drive my sweet Thiel CS 2.4SE loudspeakers.
Hi. I have just boughtba pair of Thiel CS3.7's. What amp do you suggest for these fine speakers. Money not a problem but 7,000.00 is what the other half has suggested so pre-owned it has to be.
$7K is a nice starting point. Ayre is certainly a sonic match, even the older gear. I auditioned the CS 3.7 w/ an Anthem 225 integrated amp.
It was a fine presentation indeed.
Ayre Moving Forward
Hello Everyone,
As you can probably imagine the last couple of months at Ayre have been emotional and somewhat disorganized. We all feel the loss of Charley and we will miss him greatly.
Fortunately, two years ago we began the process of re-organizing Ayre—at Charley's insistence—to be able to exist without him. It was a long process and there were a lot of difficult conversations. We thankfully had the help of our friend and consultant, Ian Kendrick, to assist us with this process.
All of this work has resulted in a very resilient company which will be able to carry on Charley's work for decades to come. We have both an advisory board and executive board in place to steer the company and two years worth of product designs that we are excited to bring to market.
While we can never replace Charley, we will be bringing in additional people and resources to our R&D department. These resources will help support Ariel Brown (VP and CTO), who worked side-by-side with Charley for the last 21 years, and Brendan Boyle (Software Engineer). This way we can continue to deliver the innovative products you expect from us.
Thank you for your continued support and help in keeping Charley's spirit alive!

The 8 series
I know that the next question on everyone's mind is; "What is up with the 8 series!"
We are working hard to finalize the EX-8 (Digital integrated amp) and plan to begin shipping it the first week of February. Like the QX-5 it will have optional modules which can be added to expand the types of digital inputs available.
The QX-8 will be next, shipping in May, followed by the KX-8 and VX-8 which we will have as prototypes at the Munich show in May.
By the time we are finished with the 8 series in the fall, there will be 6 - 7 products in the line.

Abe, What are the two small boxes to the immediate left of the iPAD?
I also have the Ayre AX-7e integrated amp and the Codex DAC in my two channel home theater system. I am looking at either the Rotel RA-1592 integrated vs Parasound Halo Integrated amp to replace my 11 year old Are AX-7e integrated amplifier. Our 2-channel home theatre system is very simple since we only have the one LG OLED TV, TiVo cable box and one integrated amplifier. My speakers are the 12L Speaker.
The new Ayre AX-8 integrated amplifier looks very interesting but $7,500 is too expensive for my home theatre system since my only source is the LG OLED 4K TV.
Hmm, $7500 is a bit steep but if it has good DAC combined with a good amp I could almost justify the price..... maybe discounted or used.
The devices to the left of the iPad are my Mac Mini and older MyTek DAC. Here's a picture of all three together:
"$7500 is a bit steep"
I'm guessing it will sound better than an AX-7/QB-9 combo, has more power and features. I'm not a fan of the look but think this is a smart product by Ayre and at a very good price for the SQ that is likely delivered.
I'm not so wild about the looks either, but I really hated the Lucky Charms icons on the AX-7's buttons. Seems to be priced about the same as a similarly appointed Vinnie Rossi Lio. I'd be curious to hear opinions on the AX-8 once people get a chance to hear it.
