If you're wondering whether balanced sounds better with your 205, can't you simply unplug one of your balanced components and test the 205 into a balanced input? That's what I'd do!
My system used to be balanced with my Pass Labs X1 control preamplifier. It sounded great. Ten months ago I built a Vacuum Tube Audio preamplifier kit with unbalanced I/O. Now my system sounds even better with unbalanced connections.
Regardless, you should find it quite easy to test whether your 205 benefits from balanced vs unbalanced by simply unplugging one of your balanced components and testing your 205. My BDP-105D sounds identical either way.
Good luck,
John Elison

If it were easy, that would be the obvious solution. But access to my cables is not easy.
