Hi Werner.
I like that explanation. The fuzzy resolution of the above photo does give the imagination room to wander. Real message of the photo isn't the tt, though...
above: your photo of the Transcriptors Hydraulic ReferenceBack in the seventies I knew this chap that had the Transcriptors Saturn with Vestigal arm.
above photo: Transcriptors Skeleton with Vestigal arm and a (Stanton cartridge..?)Not unlike the DV 505 the vertical pivot was articulated out on the armtube near the cartridge but used a small thread as part of its structure. The arm had an ADC XLM II cartridge.
His system sounded pretty good. Separates. Pre-amp, amp (solid state) were from the UK but I can't remember the name. The speakers were towers he built from a kit (again, can't remember name). Fairly good for the time. Nothing grand and it wouldn't hold up well against modern high-end gear.
At the time I was comfy with my Thorens TT, but more interested in driving my Mini Cooper within a group of other semi-crazed individuals also driving/racing Minis about the countryside. It was a fun time.
