Hey,Looking on the bright side, it still uses the wonderful suspension system which originally set it apart.
And...if you are handy as a woodworker, building a new RWAL WOOD base is simple, and the switchover is basic...I think 6 or 8 screws. FYI, I am 98% sure an XA base will not fit. It won't even fit the XB, which is from the same era, and also uses a vinyl veneer.
